Bio: Was born to Hiyoko, with Rantaro as the surrogate father. Hiyoko wanted an heir to the Saionji Clan, so Mahiru suggested Rantaro as the surrogate father. She was raised to become an amazing traditional dancer, which she is, but in her free time she made candy and other sweets. 

Personality: Hopeless romantic. She’s kind of insecure and nervous, but is overall happy, sweet and loving. She’s also pretty bossy, having been raised spoiled by Hiyoko despite Mahiru’s best efforts.  She’s amazing at dancing, and even more amazing at making candy, and to a lesser extent, pastries. 

Appearance: Has wavy, strawberry blonde hair, that’s usually up in a ponytail, and pale skin with freckles. She’s usually seen wearing a kimono, like Hiyoko. She’s 5’4, and is a little chubby. 

Relationships: 

• Her mothers: She has a great relationship with her mothers. She’s intimidated by Hiyoko, because she feels like she’ll never live up to her talent and doesn’t feel worthy of the Saionji name, but still loves her very much. She loves modeling for Mahiru while dancing, and enjoys her downtime with her mothers, too.
• Rantaro and Kokichi: She has a great relationship with her biological father/honorary uncles. She loves spending time with them, and seeing pictures of Rantaro’s travels, as well as receiving the sweets he brings her as souvenirs. She enjoys playing pranks with Kokichi, too, though she constantly has to refuse his requests for her to join DICE.
• Hironori: Hironori and Mao are very close. They often dance and bake together, and Mao loves modeling for him like she does with her mother. While they technically are siblings, they call each other cousins.
