Branwen Bryas, she/her, 6'2", age 32
Branwen Bryas is the only-a-little-bit disowned daughter of a nobleman, leaving home after it became rather obvious that she had been magically cursed on his behalf. She becomes a wartime gravedigger and medic- clearing battlefields of the dead to prevent the spread of disease (hence the mask) and performing what burial she can before moving on. It's a grisly job, but a necessary one.
At some point- against the one-god-only decree of the religious order ruling where she lives, Branwen comes into the service of a death god concerned with the transference of souls from life to death- the Mother of Ravens, keenest enemy of the Radiant House. Despite the many attempts to murder her for heresy, Branwen simply keeps coming back at the Mother's decree, resurrected- involuntarily the favorite of her servants, the Mother loves her far too much to allow her to die for good.
Eventually, Branwen becomes the accidental caretaker of a revenge-driven child (Moth) intent on killing just about anything she sees. Can a goth cleric and a murderous 15-year-old girl be best buddies? Maybe!
