As she was played in D&D 5e, Branwen was the inexplicably, seemingly random tiefling child of the all-elf noble family, the Bryases. Though it, at first, seemed like pure chance, it became apparent nearly thirty years later that Branwen's soul had been claimed by Levistus as part of a devil deal her father made to defy death.
