Overview

Born into an impoverished section of the Northern Districts, Sven learned to take care of themself from a very young age. Resultant of this, they carry themself with a somewhat aloof, indifferent domeanor- yet is nonetheless amicable, warmhearted, and personable enough for people to find a strange fondness towards them. For a long time, Sven has gone under the nickname Snow- a reference towards both their soft, white fur. The moniker was additionally created from their unique affinity towards Aspect- which is imbued with the elemental charge of ice.

Snow generally had employed his ever-increasing-through-training skills with Aspect in freelance gigs as a bodyguard and bouncer for various individuals and establishments- though as of late has become a hired mercenary of the False Cross Company. Having a soft core deep down, Snow generally prefers to use his powers for nonlethal and defensive purposes rather than offensive, taking a much more supportive role in missions. His impressive capabilities, combined with a chill temperment once his exterior guard of stoicism is lowered, makes Snow is nothing if not respectable- both as a person a nd a combatant.

Within the False Cross Company, Snow is generally well-liked- especially in terms of relatively fresh blood, his handiness with firearms and commendable Aspect skill making him a valuable asset. Snow gets along quite well with a trio carved from him and two other comrades- Rye, another recent hire, and Shiloh, the more experienced of the three. Secretively, Snow's been allowing a thief, Jayde, to elude any reprocussions for his burglaring ways- feeling a strange keenness towards the cat thief and wishing to approach him once the chance presents itself.

Snow's main directive is to continually train, both in terms of raw combat prowess and in terms of harnessing his Aspect powers. This motivation is the culmination of several combined desires- that of protecting those he cares for, and wishing to feel a sense of usefulness, companionship, and belonging which they've struggled to attain. Consequently, Snow generally acts in a deeply kind and empathetic way to those he feels fond towards, and will passionatelt

Notes/Trivia
  • Snow greatly prefers their moniker to their birth name.
  • The pet name 'Snowie' was courtesy of Niles, mainly as a tease towards the oh-so-reserved white cat.
  • Despite an ostensibly tough and uncaring exterior (that cracks as soon as genuinely approached), Snow is something of an emotional idealist- acting on impulse and feelings more than cold, rational thought. They'll throw themselves in harms way to protect a friend without a second thought.
  • Their elemental charge of ice is the result of having endured cold, harsh winters without heat nor a roof. Because of this elemental affinity, they're utterly indifferent to the cold- able to walk through a blizzard in light clothes as if it was merely a mild autumn day.
  • Snow knows ballet, having watched instructional videos in private. In public, though, they'd rather dance in any other style.
  • As part of their learned self-sufficiency, Snow is quite a competent cook, and will gladly whip up meals for a guest.
Aspect Power
  • Snow is able to freeze the immediate air around them into ice, allowing for the creation of weapons, protectice ice walls, and self-encasement in ice cacoons.
  • The effectiveness of the ice falls of severely after around 10 meters, being little more than a cool chill past 30 meters. Because of this, Snow uses firearms for long range attacks. Snow can launch ice projectiles, mainly icicles, to attack beyond a 30 meter range, though this process is less efficient than guns.
  • When in a state of heightened power or concentration, Snow's freezing ability allows the archaic to be frozen as well- such as a person's thoughts, or even time itself (albeit for mere seconds at a time due to the exertion it requires).
Relationships
Irri Friend, Training Partner
Sharing ostensibly-reserved domeanors to cover their softer cores, and both being self-taught yet proficient Aspect users, Irri and Snow are considerably close friends. They occassionally spar, and have spent plentiful nights visiting each-other's homes to hang out and kill some time. Irri is marginally more skilled with Aspect than Snow, leading Snow to hold Irri in high regard. They primarily spend time together in private, making it so that a public observer would have a hard time guessing that the two of them even know each-other's names, let alone are friends.
Rye Friend, Co-Worker
Both being mercenaries recently acquired by False Cross, Rye and Snow share companionship, connecting over their mutual career choice. Rye has an entrenched respect for Rye's marginally superior marksmanship and skill with a blade, whilst Rye respects Snow for their superior connection to Aspect and subsequent powers of freezing. The two've spent plenty of afternoons relaxing at bars after work together, ventilating out all the mild frustrations of their jobs to each-other. As a result, their bond is quite strong.
Jayde Potential Friend(?)
Snow met Jayde when the former stopped the latter from successfully burglaring a closed bar. Their odd interactions between each other on that night sparked a strange interest in Snow. Because of this, Snow let Jayde get out scot-free, and the two cross paths over the course of occassional nights. Snow has his eye out for Jayde, wishing to approach the thief and get to know him a bit more- the Aspect emenating off of Jayde making Snow wish to pursue him. Jayde is made cautious by this pursuement, not wishing to get confronted. It's likely that Snow'll soon manage to encounter the bandit and make their desired approach. It's additionally likely that Jayde's somewhat fear-driven desire to stay away from Snow would wash away once Jayde witnesses Snow's tender and soft mannerisms.
Shiloh Friend, Co-Worker
Being felines who're both more suited towards the cold, and both finding work under False Cross, Snow and Shiloh get along remarkably well. Snow doubtlessly finds Shiloh attractive, wishing to bring the relationship beyond that of prfoessional camaraderie- for reasons they're unable to quite pinpoint. This desire for romance has blossomed to a degree, Snow having slept in the same bed with Shiloh a scant few times and having cuddled & hung out with him even more. Shiloh's the more experienced mercenary, which serves to kindle a feeling of admiration and unshakable respect from Snow. The two train and spare together fairly often, the skills of both cats continuing to improve. On off-hours, Snow and Shiloh bond over things like fashion- sharing the desire to be a bit more on the stylish side than the average mercenary.
Niles Friend, Former Co-Worker
Snow occassionally acted as a bouncer to a bar which Niles worked as a waiter at. Somewhat allured by the prospect of an ostensibly-stoic softy as a coworker, Niles had occassionally flirted with Snow- having given the latter the pet name 'Snowie.' To Niles' surprise, Snow doesn't quite melt under the strain of teases and flirts, able to take them quite well- and sometimes dish it out themself. This has led to an eccentric yet sincere bond between the two, with Niles and Snow being on firmly friendly terms. Though Niles and Snow don't see each other much at that bar they first met due to Snow having moved on with their career, the two still set time aside to catch up once in awhile.
