Anastasia is polyamorous, and struggles with this fact. She falls in love easily and deeply, and feels greedy about wanting them all. As a result, she loathes herself and feels as though something is wrong with her. She fears she only hurts those around her due to her "fickle" nature

While having no official schooling in the arcane arts, Anastasia has watched her mother use magic since she was old enough to remember. More than once she has leafed through the spellbook of her mother, and memorized what she saw. She is learning spells by remembering what she'd seen and experimenting

Her spellbook is an expensive leather tome, a captain's logbook initially - gifted to her by her mother. She's kept it on her person since she got it, but had nothing to write until she decided she needed magic to protect herself and her friends. It is one of few possessions she did not lose when she was kidnapped

There are two peers her age among the crew of the Crimson Empress; Raine Carson and Falco Giovan. Both are her best friends, and she has come to love both very deeply. The two get along because they have to, but Ana has noticed a lot of friction between them, and they fight a lot. Much to Ana's despair

All her life she has struggled feeling like she is worthwhile, and has become very depressed due to her perceived inadequacy and faults. She has attempted to end herself a few times. Raine and Falco has both saved her from a tragic end

The earrings of her left ear holds significance to her. The bottom ones show the amount of lovers she has, each representing one of them. The upper rings represents the amount of children she has carried, including those she has lost.

Victoria Teach

Victoria Teach, also known as the Pirate Queen, is the captain of the Crimson Empress. She is also the mother of Anasasia and Isabella. It took time for her to grow into her role as a mother, as she found it to be at odds with the role of captain at times. For a time, Anastasia thought her mother did not love her, or at the very least strongly favoured her twin. Currently Anasasia and Victoria gets along, having resolved most of the miscommunications between them. They have a good relationship.

Isabella Teach

Isabella is Anasasia's younger twin sister. Like Ana, she was clever. But unlike Ana, she was also soft. Timid. Life at sea as a pirate was not for her. At a young age, she was set up with a fortune among a noble family - friends of Victoria's - to ensure she could lead a safe, happy and fulfilled life. Isabella always thought Anastasia was their mother's favourite, because of how similar they were. She felt like she was not good enough. Despite feeling somewhat left behind, Isabella loves her mother and sister, idolizing both of them. She wishes they would stay more in touch.

Raine Carson

Raine was Aya's first proper friend the same age as her. Aya eventually fell in love, and the two pined for each other for a decade. Eventually they got together, though it ended up hurting Raine deeply due to Aya's polyamory. Initially Raine had said yes to trying, but broke things up when it hurt too much. She refused letting Aya break up with the other partners, saying she didn't want to cage Aya.

Falco Giovan

Having joined the crew shortly after Raine, Falco became Aya's other best friend. Like Raine, she eventually fell in love. They were physical with each other for a while, resulting in a pregnancy that sadly was not carried to term. Falco blamed Aya for the loss, as she'd joined in on a fight and ended up injured, causing a miscarriage. Since then, Falco did not talk to her unless it had to do with duties on board the ship. He wants her to leave the Crimson Empress with him, to start a crew of their own.

Gideon Gray

Former member of the Schultz gang of Lockhardt. He was saved from life in prison at Black Gate by Sabrina Schultz, and has worked for her since. He fronts as the barkeep and bouncer of a bar/inn known as Steam and Smoke, but his real purpose is keeping an eye on the underground vault. Having lived his whole life dreading the violence around him, he has turned to drugs as he works towards working down his debt to Sabrina. Anastasia met him and took a liking to him, and offered Sabrina a deal to let Gideon go. As a result, he now travels with Anastasia, until she can secure a safehouse for him.

Beatrix

Beatrix is a shifter rogue, born and raised in Lockhardt. She's faced great adversity in life, which has left her a little broken. She aims to take down the bad people on top, those that exploit and use the rest. She has a hatred for most power players in Lockhardt. Still, she goes about life with a smile and a mischievous glint in her eye. Just don't get on her bad side - she is quick to pull out a dagger. She met Anastasia at a casino, where she stole the equipment of some of the group members to make them follow. All in good fun, of course. She needed a distraction for a small heist. After arguing a decent cut, Aya and group decided to help. Since then, Beatrix has stuck by their side. Aya adores Beatrix, but wishes she could do more to help her.

Vandryn Delavir

Vandryn is a mercenary who takes on the job of killing bad guys. She is good at fighting, and decides to make the best of it. Originally from an orphanage in Ayratell, Vandryn now follows the road her jobs take her. In Eldenspire, one such job led to her meeting up Anastasia and her small crew. They grouped up for a bigger threat, and along the way Anastasia grew close with Van. Van, who was never the most bright, enjoyed the patience and kindness with which Anastasia would explain things, whereas Anastasia enjoyed the sincere care and kindness Van showed.

Edwin Windcrest

Edwin is a person of influence in Eldenspire, as the eldest son of the Windcrest family. He is expected to take on the position as head of the business soon, though he is not enthused about this. Anastasia and her crew met him first when they made contact with an organization mostly of bored young nobles trying to make Eldenspire a better place. Edwin has taken on the role as a leader of sorts, and pours plenty resources into the organization. This is a way he can hold nobles accountable without being seen to be directly involved.

Saraya Bloodclaw

Currently holds the position of Fleet Admiral of the dragonborn alliance navy. She is stern, serious, and focused on her missive. She wants to make the world a better place, and show the world they need not fear her people.

Xarvi

Xarvi the Shadow Queen, Right Hand of Blackbeard, is the person Anastasia fears and hates the most. She is the reason Anastasia lost her first child, and she wants nothing more than revenge. Even to this day, Xarvi's laughter haunts her nightmares.
