Background

Born in Pappenheim, a rich river town situated by The Moot(Halflings' territory), she grew up in modest wealth and did not want for basic necessities and comforts. The second child-between two brothers-and the only daughter of her traditional-minded family. Her father was harsh and favoured her brothers, and was cruel to her mother. Resenting the lot of them, she would constantly get into fights with the other youths of her village, usually in defence of herself or another, much to her family's embarrassment. As long as she tried, she could not escape the fate of womanhood and was married off to the nobleman Alendor Reichsmith. For two long years she endured the abuse and disgrace of the nobleman's wrath and amusement. Finally at the end of her rope, she challenged him directly and stuck him down, but not without losing her finger and the attached ring in the process. Discovered shortly after by the one of the local Watchman, another noble by the name William Enzenberger who was kindly and aware of her situation with Alendor. He hid the body and covered the crime, then taking in Franka by hiring her as part of the Watch. She had a natural talent and desire to fight and took well to the skills she leaned in her new role. She developed a reputation for being ruthless towards any perpetrators known for abusing there position of power over others in any sense of the matter, and this reputation followed her after she was sent away suddenly by William himself, who insisted sternly that she leave town immediately, granting her a small pouch of coins, a broach and a letter of recommendation, but offered no explanation. Her trust and idolisation of this man was such that she up and left with very little resistance. For over ten years she wandered from town to town, picking up work as a Watchman wherever she went, and would strive to uphold the values she had learned from the man who went above and beyond his position to help her at his own risk. Eventually she roamed as far as Untergard, where she resided for a short time. She was caught up in a clash of mutants and Empire military which damaged a good portion of the town. After both sides dispersed, she was left to make her way back to the remains of the town where a commotion was stirring. There, she met three strange individuals, and her adventures began.
