Lucientius

Lucientius, or Cien as he's often called, is the demonic prince of hell. Impressive as that sounds, he actually doesn't hold as much power as others believe. Most of the actual political decisions are made by advisors. Lucientius is instead more of an idol to praise or scapegoat to blame (depending on what's happening).

It's not like Cien is entirely powerless, he's able to get plenty of things done and if he makes a public statement it's pretty difficult for his advisors to directly contradict it. However, he often gets punished pretty severely for it later on, and it's heavily recommended for him to just sit there and look pretty.

Cien is rather bitter about this, and hates that he genuinely doesn't really matter in the grand scale of things while still being forced to do and act in certain ways to maintain appearances. He kind of just wants to snap and do whatever he wants... and he does. Just in secret.

Really, he does everything to come across as a very pampered, smug person that lives in luxury and doesn't worry about a thing. However, he feels like he's trapped in a cage and wishes he could escape his role. He spends his free time in the beds of human men, but nothing ever really keeps him distracted or entertained long enough. He feels fundamentally lonely.

His most trustworthy companion is Pthen, someone whose family works very closely with him. He feels weirdly uncomfortable with their imbalance of power, and wishes that he could follow through with his romantic attachment to him. He's a bit hot and cold with him, sometimes pushing him away and other times getting clingy and needy with him. He desperately wants him close but is terrified that he's only staying near him because of their circumstances. More than anything, he doesn't want his position to have a negative effect on their relationship.
