A telekinetic combat psyker in service to the Ordo Hereticus. Kind to a fault, even in a world that hates her.
Lark has pale blonde hair, usually pulled back into a half ponytail. Her skin is also pale and scuffed with small scrapes and scars from repeated frostbite. Her face is usually somewhat flushed as if she's just come in from the cold. She's well built and tend towards soft when decently fed. She has hive gang tattoos on her left shoulder, a scarred up enforcer tattoo on her chest, and a mess of stick and poke eye tattoos all over her hands.
Lark generally wears a blue military coat and psy-collar. Underneath, she always wears a tangle of trinkets around her wrists and neck.
Lark is friendly, kind, and patient to the point of being a doormat. She tends to put others before herself no matter what, and insists on no one worrying about her. Her outlook is surprisingly pessimistic, having accepted that the worst will always happen, but one must do what they can in the mean time.
Deep down, Lark harbors a good deal of resentment toward the world and her lot in life, bottling it up over years and seeking no healthy outlet. She is also deeply and constantly afraid of losing the people she cares about, and devotes herself to them to a sometimes unhealthy degree.
That said, there are limits to Lark's patience. She wouldn't dream of using her psychic power in anger, but she might kill someone with a rock if they really earned it.
Lark grew up among mutants in the underhive in a freezing polar hive city. She spent her youth in gangs, starting to show psychic signs as a teenager and struggling to control them. The enforcers abducted her and coerced her to work for them as a psychic bloodhound and human lie detector for years, before deciding she wasn’t worth the trouble. They turned her in as a rogue Psyker, and she spent over a year in a nasty psy-gaol waiting for the black ships before the inquisition scooped her up.
- Lark was originally a blades in the dark character. That version of her is still canon, but 15-ish years prior to present.
- Lark named herself after the phrase "on a lark" rather than the bird, but picked up the bird's name later.
- Lark is incredibly resistant to cold and able to withstand much lower temperatures than humans are meant to. This does not mean she likes it.
- Lark is transgender.
