Cynayn comes from the most popular franchise within Astui called Just a Blue Cat. Essentially, it is as iconic as Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, etc is in the real world.
I'm guessing this means that in Astui, Cynyan is just as fictional as they are IRL??

Well, guess there's no point in having someone in a shoddy and/or creepy costume when you can just call the real article.
...That said, Cynyan must have gotten their start somehow, so now I wonder if Cynyan is a proper spirit [the character came first], or closer in nature to what they call a "tulpa" [the franchise came first].
[If you don't know, a "tulpa" is a living, independent entity born from imagination--kinda like an imaginary friend turned "real". According to TV Tropes, tulpas in fiction tend to be hostile or neutral at best, but it seems Cynyan is pretty much benign.
