Edibug has an air of pleasant aloofness to him which makes his casual treatment of things like experimentation and violent crimes unsettling. He's entitled and egotistical, as much as he is also deeply lonely and needy of the presence of others. He acts snobby at times, claiming to dislike speaking to people he deems below him. He's also greedy and will do anything that's requested of him at the right price.

Backstory
After having joined under horrifying circumstances, Edibug climbed the pyramidal scheme of an ominous, yet threatening organization named 'Insect Association', or 'IA', for short. At some point, years ahead of his entry, he became the leader, directing and instructing all actions that could bring profit. He surrounded himself with grasshoppers, and locusts, which served to him as goons. He met his husband around this time. And, although the two shared an uneasy, hateful relationship at first, with time they made amends and understood each other. They got married, and lived together for a while. He deserted the IA during this time in order to live a safer life. His husband died shortly after.
He arrived at The Aether with pretty much nothing left to lose, unwilling to form another bond as deep with anyone, yet hungry for work and money to fill the void. He cycled through the many possible organizations the realm could offer, until he got to the ETA, with who he currently works with.

Edibug is deeply in love with Poli. He has been for a long, long time. Even after they got divorced, and when he thought his beloved beetle had died, he still held him close to his heart. He is happier than ever now they're close again.
