Apprenticeship
Briarpaw is apprenticed and receives Scorchwater as her mentor.
Warrior
Budheart and Briarstream are sharing a rabbit by the fresh kill pile. A bit later, they politely invite Duskpaw to come hunting with them. When he refuses, they exchange a look, and Budheart snorts that his parents were probably loners. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 6)
At the gathering, Monarchstar announces Budheart and Briarstream as new warriors. They stand tall and proud. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 7)
When Firetail officially retires, Briarstream and Budheart tell him they've already made a nest for him in the elders' den, and that Hazelfrost will appreciate the company after losing Jaggedear. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 18).
Briarstream goes on the dawn patrol with Scorchwater and Thistleheart. She drinks from the stream, unaware Rosemary has poisoned it with twoleg junk. When they return, she has a bad bellyache, and Dewstorm and Gingerpaw give her watermint as she explains what happened. She recovers in the medicine den. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 14)
Briarstream receives Sandypaw as her first apprentice.
The next morning after Clovernose's death, Briarstream reminds Budheart how when they were kits and Clovernose was still expecting, she'd tell them stories. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 18)
Briarstream comments that Duskpaw was always a loner and would be easy prey for Rosemary. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 25)
