Petunalight is a curious soul with an insatiable need to know everything. He can be seen scampering around camp asking bizarre and sometimes even borderline uncomfortable and insensitive questions, much to the chagrin of his clanmates. He’s well aware that his lack of awareness is something he needs to improve on, but in the face of his quest for knowledge, he ultimately considers it less important. That’s not to say he doesn’t take other cats’ feelings into consideration. In fact, as a medicine cat, he can be fairly empathetic. Just not when his burning desire for answers is on the line.

He’s quite critical of the warrior code and harbours a blatant disregard for it, specifically concerning the need for borders, separate territories, and the ban on cross-clan and medicine cat relationships. No matter how many times or how many different ways it’s explained to him, he still finds the rules quite dumb and troublesome and will break them whenever he sees fit. He’s relatively fearless about any consequences he may receive as a result, with his leader being pretty forgiving and his skills being too valuable for him to be exiled.

He became a medicine cat not only because of his desire to help cats, but because he’s deeply curious and sceptical about the nature of StarClan. Since being adopted into the clans, their existence has always been an intriguing mystery to him that he can’t quite understand, and he hopes to someday pin down just what it is about them that makes them so powerful, all knowing, and most importantly: why some cats are so devoted to them at the expense of their own morals.
