A straight A, Honor Roll student, Aanya Chaudhary had quite a lot on her plate for a 15 year old high school sophomore!

She hardly socialized outside of her circle of friends and often was uninterested in a lot of the activities most of the other students did. But she did love art and had learned sewing from her mother at a young age. She can be very blunt at times, preferring to have an honest and straight to the point attitude. Patience is not her strongest suit!

She had one sibling (an older brother named Sunil) and her mother and father (Prisha and Balveer). Oftentimes to escape the stresses and expectations of her school and family, she visited Sunil at his mechanic shop in the city. Despite him being estranged with their parents, their bond was strong and she learned much from her beloved older brother.

One day, walking back from a visit to Sunil's, she had seen a strange flash of aquamarine light from the alleyway of her usual route. Upon inspecting the strange event, she had stumbled upon the remains of an alien sentinel, glowing faintly as it had neared deactivation.

The robot's name was Mantrum, an Avatar of Agility that had fallen to Earth after a great battle years ago. With his last bit of power, he had bestowed all of his dominion over speed to Aanya, as well as his consciousness to guide her. When she regained consciousness, she ran to her home out of complete shock!

And she made it in mere seconds! Her shoes nearly melted off! She had now obtained the power of superspeed! As well as all of Mantrum's extra abilities!

At first, she struggled to adapt to her newfound powers and bodily changes. Her physique became better adapted to running activity. But with Mantrum's guidance, she had learned to harness her boosted metabolism and superspeed! She even took up her school's track and field program to disguise her powers even more.

In the beginning, she only used her powers for her own needs. Finishing assignments faster, chores, etc. Despite Mantrum's protests, she was a little selfish with how she used her powers. She had superspeed now! She didn't have to worry about anything in life anymore!

But Mantrum knew that she was wasting these powers on meaningless things. That she had a bigger duty and responsibility to fulfill with this grand opportunity.

It wasn't until the tragic death of her brother did she realize the truth of Mantrum's words.

Sunil had been in a drunk driving incident, his car hit by a driver under the influence on the highway.

He died at the hospital, as Aanya suddenly felt great grief and guilt over his death.

She blamed herself, thinking if she had only used her speed, she would have saved her brother.

Mantrum, as well as her parents and friends, helped her through these dark times. She finally decided to honor his brother's memory and ensure such an incident wouldn't happen to anyone else.

She became the Roadrunner. Racing down the asphalt, saving innocents from any threats that come to her city. Helping keep the roads safe and protected!
