DESCRIPTION
Gabriel is the drummer in the band General Menace. He's pretty easy to get along with but he doesn't necessarily reach out to people often. Luckily most of the friend group is extroverted enough to get him involved! Gabe's the 4th of 6 children! He was kinda an easy target for the older sibs to tease growing up.. He may have developed a bit of a complex about that, perhaps that's why he's more closed off in the friend group. He's narcoleptic and doesn't drive because of it. Perpetually tired, oof.
APPEARANCE
Gabe has short brown hair, with longer bangs and spiky bits in the back. Big nose, small lips, goatee and eyebrows are darker than his hair. Muscular arms covered in tattoos. Light but sightly tanned skin. Looks tired pretty often, dark eye makeup to cover the dark eyebags...
Style: He likes shirts without sleeves, with his iconic outfit being a red cut up flannel shirt, jeans and converse. He wears either fingerless gloves on both hands (fashion) or a wrist brace on his left arm (medical/strain injury). A piercing in his right ear. His shoe laces are often untied or messily tied. Tattoos: A full b&w sleeve on his right arm. A spiral on his shoulder, a sprig of leafs, barbed wire on the bicep, a moon with clouds, a few stars, a skull, and an eyeball before reaching a band around his wrist. Lots of grayed shading/filler. A Warning symbol ⚠ on his left bicep. Rat king full back tattoo. Also a tummy tattoo, to be determined :)About
Family
The 4th of 6 children. He tries to get along with his parents but feels like he's a disappointment, though it's not necessarily said out loud... His parents are religious and he never felt comfortable to come out to them. When he was having medical problems they didn't take it seriously, so he never got over their indifference to his concerns.
Because of the age difference, Gabriel and his oldest brother never had a strong connection. His older sister is spoiled entitled etc, steals his money, needless to say they aren't on good speaking terms. He is closest to his next oldest brother Raphael, he can confide in him. They shared a room growing up and while that had it's own frustrations from time to time, it wasn't so bad for the most part. He has two younger siblings, tbd but they're not particularly close either.
Backstory
When he was about 16 years old Gabe started developing signs of narcolepsy, falling asleep in class, on the bus, and other inconvenient times, and still not feeling well rested. He got in trouble for it often, and his parents chalked it up to just being a lazy teenager. He expresses concerns about it, but they continue to brush it off. Until a teacher reaches out to them with concern, suggesting they go to a doctor. Eventually he gets the results and guess what? It's narcolepsy, like Gabe was saying it was the whole time :) Gabriel was frustrated that it took so long and they had to get someone of more authority to begin the process.
Out of high school he gets a job at a family friend's laundromat. He likes working there because he can have odd hours around his weird sleep schedule and not having to deal with a lot of people all the time. He sometimes mends clothes for patrons (it's not an official part of his job, but if you slip him a twenty, he knows how to sew a button)
Story
He lives with his friend Eve in a two-bedroom apartment. They originally moved together into Gabe's old place when they thought they were dating, but they decided they needed the space and they'd rather keep things more casual after all.
At the laundromat one day Gabe discovers a "Quit Your Job, Join My Emo Band!" flyer, and he'll be honest, it sounds tempting! He makes contact and goes for a drumming audition. Turns out, not a lot of people signed up but my god he's got the role! He's the best for the job! 👍

Personality
- got his drum kit from his oldest brother Michael who was gonna sell it when moving out
- Gabriel's parents named all the older boys in the family after angels; Gabe thought his brothers were named after Ninja Turtles and he wasn't...
- he calls his younger siblings the ketchup kids
- he got a lot of hand me downs when he was young and he tends to hang onto clothes until they are absolutely shredded. The red cutoff flannel he wears often was from at least high school, maybe earlier (it had sleeves back then)
- the danger icon on his left arm was his first tattoo
- secretly wants to be cuddly, has trouble expressing that
- always watching infomercials when he can't sleep late at night, hoping it'll bore him to sleep
- loves Lord of the Rings and the fantasy genre
- once owned a baby chicken for a week or two, before giving it to his brother's coworker

Eve [ exes, besties, roommates, bandmates :) ]
Met at the laundromat on a slow night, hooked up while waiting for her clothes to dry! and they kept at it! They moved in together because they thought that should be the next step, when you're dating. but they're not! They decided they're better as friends with benefits. Passed along the band flyer so she could audition as well 👍
Sammy [ friend, bandmate ]
Met through the band auditions. Gabe knows Sammy's serious about the band but wishes he would respond to important band tasks in a more timely fashion. Sammy teases him a lot but they're still buddies, Gabe's used to it, and it seems like Sammy does that to all the guys he likes so it's fine. The nicknames aren't his favorite though.
Iz [ bandmate, tentative friend ]
They don't know each other very well, but Iz is always willing to help out with whatever. Gabe is a bit tentative to ask for anything though, as he's honestly a little intimidated by her. He knows she's so talented and knowledgeable in music theory, but he's afraid he's only in the band because no other drummers tried out at the time. Iz wants him to have some confidence! They still chose him, rather than continuing their search! Hopefully he'll get more comfortable in their relationship soon. :)
Felipe [ buddies ]
Felipe used to skate in the laundromat parking lot where Gabriel worked. Gabe was told to kick him out but he's not a narc! Gets his number instead, they are vaguely flirty but is Felipe just Like That? iunno...
Lucky [ long lost... somethings.... ]
Met briefly as teens in detention, slowly became more friendly. Spent more time together accidentally when their older brother/cousin dated. As they got closer and Gabe developed more feelings for Lucky, Lucky got into some trouble and left. Gabe wouldn't see him again for a long time.
