He is tasked with judging one's vices and virtues, and deciding if they are worthy of receiving good luck in the coming year. He takes his job exceedingly seriously and delivers his judgement with a strictness that makes even the oldest masters cringe. He will not be swayed by sweet words or bribery, and his unwavering gaze misses nothing (so don't try to hide it).
◆ Those bearing too many misdeeds will be painted black by his jade brush; The ink a special concoction of his own making that attracts minor misfortune.
◆ People boasting good deeds however, will be honored with the warm jingle of his bells, a lingering sounds that beckons lucky spirits.

Not content with keeping balance in Chime, he will often journey to human realm, hopping across the land with the fleetness of the wind, helping to keep the wayward humans on the right moral path. He is bound by the same rules he holds others by and is, by nature, unable to lie or conceal anything (which proves disadvantageous many times) and compulsively judges him self daily.
