Profile
Struggling adult looking to turn his life around. Kagaya Souin floated in from far-off Uruna, blundering into his current job as a journalist with the Bunshin Weekly tabloid. Horribly nervous yet true to himself, the spark that keeps him moving is a desire to not leave behind any regrets.
Ordinary, but not plain. Desiring to change ever since overcoming an old fear that he wouldn't live past twenty, Kagaya has never been given a chance to prove himself - until now. An unexpected wildcard, Kagaya is about to stumble into the prologue of a story that could reshape the realm itself.

Adopted as a child by an elderly couple living in a traditional seaside home, it's not a stretch to say that Kagaya Souin grew up loved. The gorgeous oceans and whitesand beaches of blistering summers in Uruna gave him a fondness for the garish - with a colorful fashion sense contradicted by his awkward personality.
Afflicted by awful luck and bullied since young, Kagaya was never able to find work post-graduation except as an admin for a wholesale retailer of citrus fruits. Growing a little (very) tired after 8 years of looking at oranges, Kagaya eventually decided to quit his job.
Seeking opportunities beyond the Suitenkai's ocean blue, Kagaya moved to the island of Hiwasa, where he would proceed to struggle for a few years before finding footing. Picked up by the kindly owner of a hostess bar, he now rents a room in the red light district and works as a journalist for the Bunshin Weekly tabloid. Money still doesn't come easy, however!
A curious link that drew Kagaya into the greater happenings in Hinode. Kagaya finds Hirai extraordinary, and capable of so much. A part of him hopes that Hirai won't someday be disappointed in him, and is willing to work so it never happens.
The red oni to Kagaya's blue oni. Though he finds Wataru handsome, Kagaya is annoyed by how aggressive the other man is towards him at times. Still, he likes Wataru's boisterous personality and enjoys hanging out with him.
One of the few people that doesn't make him nervous. They have a friendly relationship, sharing understanding as fellow islanders that life on the mainland can be hard. Kagaya admires Yura's hard work!
Terrifying. Yuzuriha has a presence that Kagaya is easily cowed by, but it's becoming easier to talk to her over time. As the only other person here who likes shopping, he finds himself together with her a surprising amount.
