Henry Lamonte

"Real ghosts? There are 'real ghosts' everywhere. Just gotta look."

Henry grew up in a pretty average household, the only child of two average parents. However, he was considered a to be a troubled child from a young age. He would talk to people that weren't there, was interested in things most considered to be macabre, and had trouble grasping the concept of death. As a consequence, he often appeared insensitive or uncaring when it came to loss. However, the truth of the matter was that he could see and speak to ghosts. As he got older and had more personal freedoms, he dabbled in different occult practices and expanded his powers in order to understand himself better. In the process, he unknowingly and unintentionally became one of the most powerful spirit mediums in the world with the potential to keep growing.

In college, Henry met Maya Kato, an upperclassman. They got along famously, bonding over their shared love of metal music and the occult. Maya discovered Henry's powers in an incident they dubbed 'the concert' wherein somebody got posessed by a malicious spirit during a concert they went to together, and Henry was forced to help. Due to the attention on him and his powers after this incident, Henry subsequently dropped out of college and moved away. He got a job working retail to make ends meet and is the night shift manager at a local 24 hour grocery store, although he does work as a spirit medium on the side. He only takes jobs for people who genuinely need it, and refuses to accept payment for the work. During these jobs, he frequently gets injured by the evil spirits he fights with, and has amassed quite the collection of scars to show for it.

Maya still kept in contact with him as his best friend even after he moved away, and unknown to Henry, he ended up moving to the town where Maya herself would end up working when she graduated. A couple of years after the concert, Maya contacts Henry on behalf of her older brother, Jay. Jay is apparently haunted, and Maya wants his help to fix things. Henry goes into things thinking it would be a simple job, only to unwittingly get drawn into a plot of corporate espionage and drama as he discovers just how deep the rabbit hole goes. Jay, the CEO of a large tech congolmerate, is being hunted by a very powerful witch, and Henry is the only one who can help him. He does everything in his power to help, combating both supernatural and physical problems for Jay along the way. Henry ends up developing feelings for Jay - and in so doing intertwining their stories irrevocably.
