Summary

On the surface, Stanley could easily be dismissed as bland and underwhelming, and before the disaster, he really was. He has no stories to tell that are exactly fun to listen to and his monotone voice doesn't do to lend him any help either. However, after the Disaster came and went, it seemed to spark a new side of him- the man is only as interesting as his life, and Stanleys life was finally interesting.

Where the Disaster was a moment of terror and mayhem for most, in a way it was like a sick journey of self discovery for the Watchog. Stanley had discovered a taste for danger, and quite the ability to act in the face of danger. Until that point, he'd always considered himself a coward, and in a lot of aspects he still in- however, his ability to work well under pressure and take the storm by the horns is something all new, and exciting for him. He enjoys being in danger and facing off with near death experiences, although he can be a tad reckless, the goods seem to outweigh the bad- and its opened his eyes to letting himself try new things, but that's mostly now because he doesn't have his families eyes on him than anything else. When no one knows his name, there is no one for him to disappoint! Moving onto what Stanleys always been however- hes a very focused, hardworking and mature man. Despite the agony his banking job was that near 7 years he slaved away at it, he does enjoy working- he'd always relish in when his work would change cores, he'd get to run an errand or do literally anything outside of just paperwork. He enjoys working and he enjoys doing it well, and he is very much open and excited about change. Finally, Stanley is a very decisive man- he can plot out a solution under pressure no problem if he can get a moment to breath. Its hard to overwhelm him with larger than life situations, in a way it almost seems to make his head clearer with huge obstetrical to overcome rather than a bunch of menial average life grievances buzzing around in his mind.

Stanley is endlessly self-critical of himself. Hes very aware of his flaws, but tends to overlook whats good about him a lot. This can be good and bad- Stanley can generally catch his attitude when it gets out of hand, or be critical of the work hes doing, how he presents himself, but it also leads him to self doubt. Self doubt is a constant in Stanley's mind- when he has too much time to think about something, he'll probably scare himself out of thinking hes capable. Stanley works best (most of the time) with snap dissensions, without that moment to be self critical. A very private man, the Watchog despises talking about his life pre disaster or... about himself in general. He keeps his private life private, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, he has his right to privacy, however it can make conversations with him rather boring, with how unwilling he is to share any bits of his life- the most you'll get out of him is short remarks. Stern and at times a bit too serious- Stanley likes to keep himself composed and presentable if he can help it. Despite his trying to loosen up and enjoy his new life to the fullest, he still happens to fall into that habit of being a stickler, though with enough poking and prodding, you can get him to loosen up. Finally, Stanley is ridiculously stubborn. At times you can win the man over with logic, but more times than not, he wont budge. This shows though the most with his refusal to perform even to this day- though his stubborn attitude can be a positive when it comes to sticking to his guns with a plan or job.

Callous and downright just mean at times, Stanley doesn't do himself any favors when it comes to socializing. Generally, the longer you know him, the meaner he becomes, be it he means it or not. His attitude seems to just be something that develops with how comfortable with a person, once hes past the introductions, and has known you for a couple days, he'll be an ass, most likely. That said, hes also rather out of tune with other peoples emotions and can be downright insensitive, especially if he can't relate. He has his moments of being soft, but don't count on them. Hateful and envious as all hell, Stanley despises seeing people better off or do more exciting things than him, and that still rings true even to this day, despite him trying to fight down these toxic feelings. He can hold long lasting grudges, though generally hides his downright loathing for others (and is good at it). More times than not, he wont act on this envy or hatred, however if given the chance without consequence: don't count on his loyalty. Finally, Stanley is a fickle man, and his opinions of people can flip on a dime, especially if he hasn't gotten the chance to properly get to know you. Hes cynical and expects the worst out of people, he convinces himself, especially if he considers you better than him, that people are just selfish self indulging assholes with undercover alternative motives, and this can lead to him isolating himself at times. The only good side to this is, if you haven't done anything to him the warrant a grudge, these feelings can flip back to positive as fast as they turned negative- but that doesn't mean it can't flip right back. His feelings towards people are just downright unpredictable.
