About: Zako is an assassin and scout for The Black Rose. Not many know about her past, but she is loyal to her organization. Zako, originally from Shurima, belonged to a small tribe of Vastaya known as the Tiliqua. When Zako was younger, her tribe's settlement was invaded by a Noxian hunting guild who would ransack their home and capture whichever Tiliqua survived. The remaining tribesman would be taken to Noxus to be sold off as servants. Zako and her childhood friend Soga were sold off to a noble Noxian family in which they served for many years. Zako's masters were a part of The Black Rose, a secretive cabal led by the Noxian aristocracy. Zako and Sago were not treated well, especially compared to the human servants within the estate, and were seen as exotic, obedient pets for their masters to show off to guests.

Zako grew resentful of her masters for their treatment. Zako was very swift and cunning, and often sabotaged events and gatherings for her masters in secret; and unbeknownst to her, was being observed every time she did. The Black Rose, after seeing her potential, saw this as an opportunity to recruit her. The matriarch of the Black Rose met Zako in the gardens of the nobles' estate, enlightening her on how problematic her noble masters have been for Noxus and for the organization, and that she could help in ridding of them. She spoke to Zako of freedom and power to overcome people who wronged her, but Zako was unsure due to fears for the future. Zako would swear her secrecy and would be given time to consider the position.

Zako's life would take a turn when Sago would suddenly be murdered in an alleyway in Noxus Prime -- a case that would quickly be dropped and forgotten by Noxian officials. The Black Rose offered to aid Zako in not only leaving her masters behind, but also to help her find the culprit that had murdered her only friend. Zako promptly accepted, not knowing and not ever finding out that the Black Rose had committed the crime in order to manipulate her into joining. Her initiation involved assassinating her masters, which she accomplished by using deadly poison. Zako was accepted and promptly trained to be a stone-cold killer and has remained in the shadows along with the rest of the Black Rose ever since.

Although she has the reputation of being a cold and efficient assassin, she is not heartless and actually would not mind making some friends despite the usual “don’t trust anyone” mentality within the Black Rose. She has broken quite a few rules since she tends to go out in public more than she should. She adores hot tea, fried food, and most of all, poros. She owns a lot of poro merchandise.
