Once an average man living in a small portside village, now a priest to the Lady of the Depths... an Eldritch abomination that's made its prescence known to the mortals only recently. Under her guidance, and with the Bible of the Deep Ones, Llyr offers the good word of his Lady to all those that will listen. He's not normally violent, but can be quite persistant when it comes to trying to convert others into his Lady's graces. As such, many a good folk have stopped at the small chapel he maintains to seek shelter or aid, only to end up leaving with more than they bargained for...

Personality

Even though Llyr has anything but good intentions for most all he encounters, the dark priest makes it a point to come off as humble and harmless. And though his changing, fishy appearance makes that more and more difficult, Llyr is crafty and makes do with his magics to manipulate where words and actions fail. The priest doesn't have an endless amount of patience though, and will often have to bite his tongue when all he really wants to do is let forth a deluge of scathing remarks about anyone who isn't letting him get his way.

Character Notes

  • Llyr, devote to his Ladyship, despises the other eldritch beings... especially those who have amassed their own following. In particular, he can't stand the Void Mother and her cult, The Black Hand.
  • He takes advantage of a number of the Lady's gifts, from tentacles he's able to summon from beneath his robes, to the Eyes of the Depth that connect him to the goddess and better help him to be aware of what's around.

Design Notes

  • He most always keeps his eyes closed, or nearly closed... wanting to give off a harmless appearance to those around him.
  • Thanks to the otherwordly being's influence over him, Llyr has began to lose his humanity... and he's taken on marine like appearnce. Though, that seems only fitting for a priest of the goddess of the ocean depths.
  • His physical appearance and the worship of a being/beings belonging to the ancients depths draws some inspiration from Lovecraft's "Shadow Over Innsmouth".

Hel [ Rival ]

Llyr's perceived rival. Hel knows of Llyr, and it is utterly unimpressed with the fanatical priest. He cares little for playing puppet to a god and, despite being the Void Mother's follower, hardly does anything to spread her word. Though, this does little to quell Llyr's ire (who believes Hel is out spread the other deity's word against his Lady's). Still, the pair can often be found together arguing over petty things or brooding in silence.

Madam Circe [ Acquaintance ]

Perhaps one of Llyr's only friends. A powerful mage that Llyr had met by chance while Circe was on her travels, studying black magic. He offered her shelter at his chapel. And though she rejected the word of the Lady, the pair get along well enough... at least on the surface. In truth, he has his eyes set on her sons, and aims to convert them to his Mistress's whims under the guise of tutelage.
