Right off the bat I have to say I adore his general trope! I've always been a sucker for sort of morally gray scientists who create something appearance altering only to either try it on themselves or in some other way become physically affected by their creation! In GRIM's case the fact it didn't happen on his own accord but rather because of his workers did it to him. It makes me wonder just how satisfied he is with his current existence and how he feels about it.
I'm also really impressed by how well you managed to summarize and describe a decently "complicated" back story and make it into a short & sweet description: I always tend to ramble and struggle packing up information in a reader friendly neat package, so I admire your skill a lot! Also I really like the songs you picked for him; I'm already familiar with the most of them and love the feeling of unity in all of them!
His design is also really impressive! All the mechanical joints look so natural in how the are attached to the limbs and the contrast between a decently human-like upper torso vs this almost spider-like rest of the body are visually so pleasing! The little details like the button on his vest being the "shut down" button and his smiley face being horizontally focused like it would be in digital text are a delight!!!!
