Aimé is a charming young man who takes pride in his business as a contractor, claiming a guaranteed 100% success rate, no matter what he's hired to do. Despite his sweet smile, Aimé can be a manipulative person who isn't above blackmailing others to get what he wants. He's not afraid of breaking the law to get his work done, since he can slip away easily without ever getting caught.
Aimé is oftentimes very harsh and has a negative opinion on life as a whole. He usually internalizes these feelings, but they slip up when he feels agitated or threatened. He has a bad habit of mocking others, even when someone might show him concern, as he feels their worry is unnecessary, or that they see him as weak and are pitying him.
On the surface level, Aimé comes off as cold and untouchable, holding everyone at arms length and showing no interest in forming bonds beyond employer and employee. However there is a softer side to Aimé that not many people get to see - while sharp towards people his age, he's kind and gentle to children. He often carries candies or small toys in his pockets to give kids that stop to talk to him, and will humor them with fake contracts if they ask to hire him.
Due to Aimé's upbringing, he believes that the suffering he's gone through has a meaning, and all of the pain he experiences is part of his scripts and that it will all lead to something bigger. The weight of being Elio's treasure remains heavy on his shoulders, but Aimé feels if he were to walk away or to give up, he would have nothing. He internalizes all of his pain and his fears, caring only for himself, as is what he was taught - even long before Elio took him in. It's gotten to the point where Aimé has almost fully manipulated himself into believing this is what he was born for, and he deserves to suffer if it means Elio can reach the future he's predicted.

The story of a child in the Underworld who became a demon overnight.
Story 1
A thread of happiness in his bleak life.
Aimé was born in the Underworld of Belobog, on Jarilo-VI, but for unknown reasons his birth parents abandoned him (and his twin brother) in the Great Mine, in a crate of Geomarrow. He was discovered by two thieves - Anya and an unknown male. Anya, who was a kind woman, could not turn away from an abandoned baby and chose to take him back to the thieves' hideout, despite warnings of their leader disapproving of her actions. As expected, Alain wasn't happy to see Aimé, and claimed he would be a waste of resources and keep the rest of the group awake with his crying. Anya argued that there was absolutely no way she would leave him, and that she would take full responsibility of Aimé until he was older. Alain relented, but with the threat that if Aimé became more trouble than he was worth, him and Anya would both be thrown out.
From then on, he was raised and cared for by Anya, but some of the more kindhearted members of the thieves' group would also look after the boy. Anya named him Aimé - meaning beloved in a foreign language. She taught him everything that she knew, how to read and write, basic math, languages, anything that could be of use to him in the future. As Anya was one of the younger members of the thieves' group, she didn't go on as many runs as the others did, and would instead spend time looking after Aimé and taking him to the playground outside the orphanage.
Story 2
This world we live in now is not meant for weaklings with visible hearts.
Unfortunately, Anya's attempts to raise Aimé into a kind person were continuously trampled on by Alain. He saw Aimé as weak and treated him rather poorly, telling him that if he doesn't grow a thicker skin, he'd be as good as dead. Attempts to take Aimé on crime runs often ended in failure, and despite Anya demanding Alain to leave Aimé out of it, the man was only more convinced Aimé was a mistake.
At some point, Aimé was able to make a little money by helping out an elderly woman in town. He brought it back to Alain, thinking he'd be able to convince the older man that he could prove his worth by helping others, but Alain simply laughed in his face, telling him what he made wouldn't even last a day. Alain told Aimé that things like kindness and community would only bring his downfall, that he'll never survive in this world if he remains weak. Sensing Aimé's hesitance, Alain threatened to feed him to the Fragmentum Monsters that wandered past the tents at night. Terrified, Aimé begged him not to, promising to be better.
Aimé went on to adopt a similar personality to Alain, outwardly kind and friendly, but secretly plotting against those he assisted. He would offer a hand to the miners while listening in on their conversation, then relay it to Alain who would organize another crime run. This proved successful, and the thieves were able to steal more resources than ever. For the very first time, Alain praised Aimé. However, this happiness would not last, as Wildfire had caught the thieves. Anya had enough time to tell Aimé to run and hide, and to not come out until it was absolutely silent. Aimé hid away, trying to block out the sounds of running and yelling, fighting and things crashing to the ground, until - silence.
When he left his hiding spot, the thieves were all gone.
Story 2
Our meeting was fated to happen.
Left with no guidance or family to call his own, Aimé continued to live in Rivet Town despite the monsters that roamed the area. He learned how to sneak past or distract them by throwing stones in another direction, but that didn't mean there weren't close calls. A few times he was saved by a member of Wildfire, but he would run away before they could ask him anything. He would offer help to Underworlders in Boulder Town in exchange for food or other necessities, but always turned down offers for him to stay with them or rest in their homes.
Aimé was no longer the cheerful or hopeful young boy he once was, fully believing that surviving meant caring for only yourself - that everyone else are pieces to use and discard once you're ahead. Following in the footsteps of Alain, he put up walls and only feigned kindness when he wanted something from others, having no desire of forming bonds, thinking it was the best for everyone if he kept away.
However one night when he visited the playground at the orphanage, he found he wasn't alone. He came face to face with an unfamiliar man who greeted him kindly, and didn't flinch when Aimé responded harshly. His tone remained gentle, and he told Aimé that their meeting was fated to happen. Aimé might've claimed to have no interest in forming bonds or growing close to others, but he was still a child deep down inside. Maybe that's why he took the man's hand.

Trivia .
- Aimé differs heavily from his Genshin Impact counterpart. The diverging point between Aimé and Vani is that Aimé was abandoned at birth then raised by a group of thieves before being taken in by Elio, whereas Vani had his birth parents up until his father's arrest, and was cared for by Diluc.
- In Honkai: Star Rail, Aimé and Ruan Wren are related just like their counterparts. However, they've yet to interact, and as of right now they don't know of each others' existence.
- The black cat often seen in official media of the Stellaron Hunters is in Aimé's splash art.
- Aimé's bounty given by the Interastral Peace Corporation is unknown, as the counter breaks before it can settle on a price.

Do me a favor and forget I existed.
Everyone praises them for their strength or their princely behavior, but they all fail to realize that people like them are always looking down on those less fortunate. I think my biggest regret was ever crossing paths with them - and allowing them to disturb my peace of mind. That is to say, I don't care for them at all.

Careful, sheepie, don't break a nail!
Hmmm... that popular idol everyone has been talking about, well, he's definitely cute, you know. But maybe it's a bad idea for him to get near someone like me, who knows what could happen... heh.
