Design Notes
- The crack on his head always connects to the edge of his mouth, but can be drawn in any way besides that. It is required.
- As long as his tail is leafy, you can draw it pretty much however you want.
- His blood is bright blue and pink, and glows. This is not a stylistic choice. It's just like that.
With a sweet 'n' sour personality to match their citrus namesake, O.J. is a walking contradiction. Independent and subservient, stubborn and compliant, confident and self-conscious... there's really no figuring them out.
They sold their soul to the Devil at a fairly young age. Since then, they work to draft up soul contracts for him and coerce patrons of the Devil's Casino into gambles to sign such contracts.
They generally don't stray too far from the casino. As a result, they're rather oblivious when it comes to most of the outside world. They are aware of and pained by this fact.

Plant MagicO.J. is adept in a variety of plant-based magic. He can encourage plant growth and manipulate surrounding flora. When attacking, this power often manifests in the form of vines to drag, fling, or restrain opponents.
If he feels especially threatened, he may develop poisonous thorns across his body with a toxin that can cause symptoms ranging from hallucinations, delusions, shaking, paralysis, difficulty breathing, dizziness, and/or hot flashes. These toxins are present in his own bloodstream, sometimes presenting those same symptoms to him.
He has a very slight regenerative ability, as both his limbs and tail are made of plant matter.
Soul SightSince it aids their job, O.J. was given the ability to see into others' souls by the Devil.
This ability isn't very strong, but they can infer basic things such as a person's personality and motivations.
Before O.J. was O.J., he was a kind-hearted and soft-spoken boy named Evelio. He lived off the streets and found comfort in alleyways. Despite everything, he had a heart of gold. It was only after being initiated into a gang called EDEN that he began to change.
As you can expect, EDEN was cruel in a number of ways. They stripped him of his autonomy and his sense of self-worth, severing his connections with the few friends he had and carving his back with their name. It only worsened once they found out his blood contained hallucenogenic properties— unbeknowst to Evelio until far too late, they harvested his blood to craft a unique and sought-after drug.
Still, he considered EDEN to be his family. Any harm that came to him by their hands, he blamed on himself. He swore his loyalty to them until the very end. And Evelio kept his promise.
He faked his death in an attempt to disconnect entirely from EDEN. The newspapers would tell you that Evelio's life was claimed in a fire, and O.J. would do nothing but pretend he had never heard the name before.
- Actually hates orange juice and most citrus-flavored things.
- Can be caught drinking liquid fertilizer from time to time.
- Considers everyone they like to be their sibling.
- Collects bones and other oddities in their spare time.
- Lives in a previously abandoned greenhouse.
- Has several pets, all of which are plant hybrids like themself.
- The leaves on their tail sometimes turn brown and/or orange in the colder seasons. They actually wish their leaves were always brown; it's their favorite color.
