Was a VERY skilled royal knight charged with protecting the kings only daughter, Tried to fight death to save the princess and lost, almost died himself, survived but is forever marked by his 'death' by the black markings on his body, was moved to the general army after the princess died and is frustrated about it, standoffish and doesnt get along great with most of the other soldiers, hates the markings and paints little intricate designs in them, mushrooms + sprouts are a favorite but sometimes its just the little stripes/speckles, can also be things like constellations or vines or even an imitation of his own patterns, the markings are referred to as the 'touch of decay' and acts a bit like a poison when he enters combat, draining his energy the longer he fights until he can barley hold his sword
