Viksa

By the first glance Viksa seems quite a nervous man. He tends to not say much about himself and avoids spotlight as well as he can, but he only is truly nervous when he's supposed to talk in front of the large group of people. Face to face he isn't really shy and awkward, rarely even that quiet. He's more observant and only speaks when he has something to say. He only really likes to be alone when he's working but other times he doesn't mind other people as long as it's not too loud and hectic.

Viksa's personal interest led him to study curses and other darker magic. He doesn't practice it himself, but he likes to find out how and why people use it. He believes every story has more than one side and would love to hear all of them before passing any kind of judgement. Which is probably why he sees himself as a very neutral party, an outsider. As such he also has patience and understanding to deal with side effects of dark magic like curses or hexes better than he would if he practiced that kind of magic himself.

He would be lying though if he'd say he didn't have any opinions, and some could say he could be very harsh if he wanted. However, Viksa is more than willing to admit when he's wrong, feel his feelings as they are and give credit when it's due. He may be quiet, but he isn't stoic and certainly not emotionless or easy to walk over. In the familiar company he easily engages in the witty banter and can tease his friends mercilessly showing more of his miechievous side. Sarcasm is not his style, though, nor being mean for the sake being mean. However, he'll definitely say things as they are and since he rarely lies, his truths sometimes seem way too naked. Maybe he could sugarcoat it little bit? Be more... poetic.

Viksa feels like his story is actually pretty common one: he was born in a brothel to a woman who had many children. He never knew his father and hardly knew his other siblings. Actually, he only found out when he was older that only about half of the people who he called his siblings were actually related to him. It didn't really matter though, since they were never that close. Life in the brothel and in the streets around it was mostly about survival. Viksa was lucky since he was smart and fantastic magic user, even as a child, so he had some privileges the other kids didn't. It didn't take too many years for him to find a person who would take him to be an apprentice and learn more about magic.

So he went with his mentor to see the world. It was tough but uneventful time, since Viksa's mentor was a very demanding teacher and Viksa was somewhat a lazy student.
After being fine by himself Viksa kept travelling around. He likes to think that things are easier to learn in the environment related to the said thing. And travel is good for a person.
He likes threasure hunting in far away lands, his treasure being cursed objects and places. He tracks them, finds them, lifts the curses. Objects he sells if he can or gifts them away and places he'll just leave as they were, maybe inform the owner that it's safe now. So Viksa is like a very specific kind of hireling. He sometimes helps cursed people, too, but since he doesn't really feel comfortable playing with other's lives he usually doesn't offer than kind of services.

Nowadays he can be found in the strange and dark corners of the universe usually looking for some kind of dusty tome or grave. Or someone hired him to look at their family heirloom said to hold a generations long curse. Or something like that.
