“I can’t exactly describe how I feel but it’s not quite right. And it leaves me cold.” -F. Scott Fitzgerald

Jack Winters is a soft spoken, awkward beast-kin man in his early twenties who has fallen into a miserable situation. He caught the ire of Cedar after being falsely attributed for a poor taste joke, and found himself cemented against the side of a boulder, weathering the elements and the wildlife. He’s been captive for long enough that he’s starting to lose hope of escape, but tries his best to occupy himself with conversation-either with the trees and wildlife around him, or the rare visitor. As a socially inept telemarketer, he knows he has no friends, or a job that’s worried about him, and can only endure the increasingly sadistic turnings of fate for so much longer.

Design Notes

  • Head is lopsided, right antler has been cut while left side hasn't.
  • Air freshener is not fresh, been sitting in Cedar's truck for years.
  • Hair is not dyed, naturally red.
Trivia

  • Doesn't understand why he's in the block, does not know what he did wrong.
  • Hates the taste of maple syrup, but too non confrontational to complain when he's given it.
  • Actually a moose, not a deer, but too polite to correct people.
  • Favorite food is peanut butter.
  • Favorite color is orange.
Likely to

  • Invest in a very poorly designed social media.
  • Buy fancy popcorn/luxury items and get scammed.
  • Only have sporks in his house.
Part I

Born in the western reaches of Pennsylvania, Jack Winters lived a mundane, if neglected childhood. He wasn’t expected to go far-and pretty much didn’t. He got a job out of high school working for some shitty telemarketing company, and it paid well enough, and was easy enough, so he didn’t try for much more.

Part II

One night at crappy bar though, his life would spiral out control. A poor taste joke by the person next to him, and when a stranger introducing himself as Cedar credited him with it and seemed to agree, he was too polite to correct them.

Part III

Then he woke up three days later cemented to a Boulder in the middle of the woods, being tormented for somebody’s else’s joke. He tried to deny it, but the words on the tongue of the already guilty meant nothing to Cedar, his maniacal captor. And so it’s been for two months, a miserable cycle of torment and fear. He’s starting to give up any hope of escape-he’s sure he’ll die here, one way or another.
