Zebulon is a male melanistic herring gull, entirely black, safe for the yellow beak and eye ring, and pink feet. His eyes are solid red. One of his wings is ever so slightly shorter than the other, which makes him fly in circles if he doesn’t actively correct his trajectory at all times. He is one of those immortal legendary birds, with the ability to control sea currents and cast hurricanes.
He is often known as the living embodiment of an almighty god. In complete secret, he got to meet Gédéon (Gideon), a peacock and the bird of time, who travelled back in time to tell him everything that happened during the lifespan of the empire. That way, he was able to make everyone believe he could predict the future. He stood up in the middle of a long-going conflict of beliefs, opposing birds who believed there was nothing more to the world than what we can see, to those who believed there was an intangible god controlling the world. Zebulon claimed to be this god, but in a material form, in an attempt to conciliate both sides. Nobody believed him until he threatened to make the sun disappear, and when he spread his wings, the sun did indeed disappear. He was simply aware of the exact moment and location of a total solar eclipse, but no one knew that.
This allowed him to recruit Gideon and Oberon, leaders of both sides, and found an empire for all the birds, which he governed for a decade before he died.
