She takes things very literally and at face value, making her rather naive. Her outlook on life is very optimistic and always retains at least a little spark of hope in even the most dire situations. Unfortunately, this can make her gloss over the fact that she does suffer.
She reacts much in the same ways that Caelyn does to certain things, as she still retains the memories of the feelings she felt back then. In contrast to Caelyn, though, Aerwyn is much more outgoing, blunt, and spontaneous than them.
Despite being a deity, she doesn't like the idea of being worshipped as she feels it separates her from her humanity. She views herself as equal to mortals, and will often question what makes a deity worth worshipping or even a deity at all. She can often go into wild tangents, usually something philosophical in nature, or about her special interests.
Early Life
Eventual
As a Mortal
She started her existance in the universe as Caelyn Dewflower, a kitsune psychic with the ability to manifest their dreams into reality. They didn't have control over this, at least not at first. This led to many issues, but eventually she became a lucid dreamer and got her powers under control. She lived a long and happy life with her wife, Fiammetta Amante.
As a Kanya
As most souls who face Pharasma's judgement do, memories of her mortal life were wiped. Her soul was transformed into a chosen petitioner and sent to the plane of Elysium where she later became a kanya azata. She devoted her work of inspiring mortals to the godesses of the Prismatic Ray, Shelyn, Desna, and Sarenrae. She gained her divinity by dreaming of it, though she didn't have control in that particular instance.
Present Day
After an incident involving a dreamthief hag, she has given herself a mortal body on Golarion to make up for the suffering she feels she caused Ignazio. The two worked together in the Dreamlands to find the hag and retrieve the remnants of Ignazio's dreaming mind. Since then, they have since started a revolt in Cheliax and are now wanted by the Hellknights. Hiding from them, they have now taken up residence on a planar skiff along with Comet, Merlot, Faire, Harley, and Aranis.

Ancestry/Heritage Ganzi Human
As unpredictable and varied as any of Golarion's peoples, humans have exceptional drive and the capacity to endure and expand. Though many civilizations thrived before humanity rose to prominence, humans have built some of the greatest and the most terrible societies throughout the course of history, and today they are the most populous people in the realms around the Inner Sea.
Humans' ambition, versatility, and exceptional potential have led to their status as the world's predominant ancestry. Their empires and nations are vast, sprawling things, and their citizens carve names for themselves with the strength of their sword arms and the power of their spells. Humanity is diverse and tumultuous, running the gamut from nomadic to imperial, sinister to saintly. Many of them venture forth to explore, to map the expanse of the multiverse, to search for long-lost treasure, or to lead mighty armies to conquer their neighbors—for no better reason than because they can.
Children of chaos, ganzis are born of the roiling effervescence of the untamable Maelstrom, the primal sea of all creation. Their blood crackles with the promise of change and the raw power of creation unshackled.
While some ganzis are born of mortals who mingled with the inchoate beings of the Maelstrom, and some are descended from those who sailed that cerulean void, many others are born in places where the Material Plane frays toward chaos. Whatever their roots, all ganzis share the same potent essence.
More than any other planar scions, ganzis are prone to appearing in otherwise stolid and unremarkable bloodlines. While this is sometimes cause for scandal in less open-minded communities, most ganzi children grow up as happy and loved as any other child. Ganzi children often exhibit irrepressible energy and good-natured mischief. A few even grow out of these tendencies eventually.
Background Raised by Belief
Whether in a monastery, a religious household, or just as part of your everyday life, your upbringing was steeped in the traditions of a faith or philosophy. You might remain committed or you may have turned from your childhood creed, but your skills are still founded in your devotion.
After a lifetime of being mortal, you set off on the path into your next life. From a lone soul, to a petitioner, to an Azata, you surprisingly ended up as an Empyreal Lord. While you certainly weren't planning to do so, you dreamt that you obtained a spark of divinity, akin to Nethys and Irori obtaining theirs by sheer force of will and dedication.
In your life as a mortal, you lived as a kitsune named Caelyn Dewflower. You had a happy, long life with the one you loved, cherishing all the time you had with them. You happened to have a special ability that allowed your dreams to manifest into reality, and it seems that followed with you into your afterlife. Within doing so, you carved out a space in the Dreamlands solely for yourself. Before you died, you left behind an old, beloved painting. Your memories have been wiped, you were reincarnated into a kanya that devoted their time and skills to the three goddesses of the Prismatic Ray: Shelyn, Desna, and Sarenrae.
You wonder who it is that's depicted in the painting...
Class Exemplar
An imbalance in the Outer Planes has seeded the Material World with unearthly power. Somehow, a fragment of divinity rests within your body, granting you abilities that reach into the realm previously reserved for heroes and legends. What you do with your nascent godhood is yours to decide, but whether you cultivate your power to become a hero or you turn this authority to selfish ends, your name will be carved in history forever, immortalized in the memory of gods and mortals alike.
Archetype Mind Smith
“The mind makes it real.” Though uttered in many parts of Golarion, nowhere is this more literal than perhaps among mind smiths—those with a mysterious mental talent that allows them to manifest their mind into a physical object. Some gain this power through magical training from an ancestor or mentor, while others earn it as a gift or reward from some greater being, or by inexplicable chance. Whatever the source, you have mastered the ability to form a mental image into a corporeal figment solid enough to affect the physical world. You trained the power to aid you in battle by shaping itself into a potent weapon, bound by only the reaches of your own imagination.
Blue Stuffed Toy [ Item 0 ]
A beaten up, old looking stuffed toy. It's so worn out that you can't even tell what it was supposed to be be-- not even Aerwyn herself knows. Despite that, she cares for it deeply and would not hesitate to lash out at anyone who would dare take it away from her.
Nostalgic Painting [ Item 0 ]
A painting made by an unknown artist depicting a beautiful woman with a deep stare and faint aura of undeniable nobility. Aerwyn feels a distant longing when she looks at it, like ships passing in the night.
Holy Amulet [ Item 0+ ]
An enameled pendant of a cloud split into two sides. The left is light teal with a gold closed eye, and the right a dark purple with an open eye. Between these is a gold spiral, and surrounding the cloud is a silver lining.
Dweomerweave Robe [ Item 2 ]
This robe is made from dweomerweave, a magical fabric created by spinning minor illusions into the threads of ether spider silk. Dweomerweave is naturally hazy and translucent. It can take on the illusory appearances of other fabrics and garments, and dweomerweave robes are coveted by adventurers who want to travel light without compromising on fashion.
Ignazio Venturi
Her relationship with him started out as one of her own obligation, but gradually became one of love. She's conflicted about the idea of being in a relationship with a mortal, considering it is generally frowned upon and seen as a bad idea amongst the gods. She's used to breaking cultural norms, though, so it's likely she'll follow her heart anyways.
Caelyn Dewflower
Caelyn was Aery's first life as a mortal. She retains vague echoes of her memories that manifest as emotions and feelings of deja vu. She does not currently know that this is who she once was.
Fiammetta Amante
The woman in her beloved painting. While Caelyn's soul went to Elysium, hers went to Nirvana. For one reason or another, her memories were spared. She'd recognize Caelyn's soul a mile away and loves her just as much as she did in life, but Aerwyn only feels a vague hint of nostalgic warmth.

Trivia
- I Just Think they're Neat!: She chose the form of a Ganzi because she just thinks proteans are neat. She occasionally visits the Maelstrom to check out the powerful storms that form there and to chill with all the voidwyrms.
- Bittersweet Nostalgia: Despite having her memories wiped as all souls who receive Pharasma's judgement do, she still remembers how things in her life as Caelyn made her feel. This leads to moments where she'll feel and react to certain things just as Caelyn would, but she has no idea why she does. For example: she feels nostalgic and warm inside when looking at the painting she found inside her dreamscape, but doesn't know that the person in it was her lifelong wife from her previous life as Caelyn.
- For the Love of Art: She still has her painting skills from her previous life, but learned to sing when she was a kanya. She worked very hard to achieve the range she does-- all so she could do her favorite songs justice (in her eyes).
- Dramatic Performer: She likes to daydream visuals to go along with the songs she performs, manifesting them into reality to really drive home the atmosphere of the music.
- Running Gag:
"Ganzi tails are notoriously full of mischief, with even their attached ganzi sometimes baffled by their antics."
Aerwyn's tail just happens to act on her (otherwise suppressed) impulses. She wishes she could just slap herself for saying something completely stupid? It does it for her. She really wants to hug someone? It grabs onto their leg gently. She's on the verge of losing it? It thrashes about.
Design Notes
- Many details are intentionally inconsistent in her design. For example, sometimes she doesn't have her horn, whether it be because it's getting in the way or she just forgot to manifest it in her physical form. The things that don't change are her skin color (not counting scale color), her weight, and height.
- Her divine spark takes the form of the "flames" that sometimes appear above her horn, tail, and on her weapon.
- Has multiple forms. Among them are kanya, their mortal form (a Ganzi elf), and a protean-like form.
- Her holy symbol is a cloud half dark purple and half light blue, swirled together in the middle and an open and shut eye on either side. This repsents both dreams and nightmares, as well as dreams and daydreams.
- Her cardigan's pattern can change into whatever she'd like it to be, so if you're drawing her go ahead and draw whatever you want, within reason. I'm not subjecting you to drawing the intricate pattern shown here.
- You can also just simplify her hair into a cloudy looking clump of hair, similar to Nia Teppelin.
