NOTE
This profile mainly covers the events of Part 3 (Stardust Crusaders) and a brief amount of time after it's end. Info about anything beyond that point will likely be on a separate profile at a later date!
APPEARANCE
Joanne is a woman of average height with a fit and somewhat curvaceous build, navy blue hair — usually styled into a star-shaped ponytail — blue-green eyes and pale skin. She has pointed ears, fangs, a beauty mark on the left side of her chin beneath her lower lip, and a purple, star-shaped birthmark that rests on the back of her left shoulder, similarly to Dio and others in the Joestar family.
In Stardust Crusaders, she's depicted wearing a cropped, zip-up top with matching shorts and a strapless bodysuit underneath. She has torn fingerless gloves, stirrup stockings and short heeled shoes. She wears makeup, primarily consisting of eyeshadow, eyeliner and two-tone lipstick.
At some point, Polnareff gifts her one of his red, broken-heart earrings, having her wearing it for the rest of the journey. Much later on after the events of Stardust Crusaders, she's seen wearing both earrings.

Stand Ability
Joanne's Stand, Lady in Red, is a blood based stand, giving the ability to draw blood from her own body and solidify it to be anywhere between a liquid and a hard, metallic-like state. Through this, it can be used to form weapons and armor (both internally and externally), among other things, such as keys to unlock doors or temporary makeshift stitches for injuries. While still able to do some damage at a good distance, Lady in Red is most powerful at close range or active while kept internally.
Stand Weaknesses
- Fire and ice based abilities
- External use of her stand overall has a time limit, varying depending on how much blood is being used
- Blood loss, which can weaken her healing and cause erratic vampiric behaviors to amplify; If enough blood is lost and isn't regained quickly, she can become damaged by sunlight / UV rays, similar a standard vampire
- Excessive internal use of her stand may also cause vampiric behaviors to amplify (ex: solidifying internally to guard herself from a damaging hit), though it's much slower to happen and quicker to recover from than extended external use and blood loss
- Due to it involving her own blood, it is very unfortunately visible to non-Stand users
Vampiric Abilities
Vampiric Weaknesses
- Regeneration is, be default, slower than the average vampire's and can only be boosted by drinking blood
- She can tolerate more pain than a human, but can feel a lot more pain than a standard vampire
- Blood loss, which can weaken her healing and cause erratic vampiric behaviors to amplify; If enough blood is lost and isn't regained quickly, she can become damaged by sunlight / UV rays

Trivia
• Joanne not only has another name (Dahlia), but she also goes by a handful of nicknames; Dahl, Jojo, Blue, Blue Bird and Blue Jay are some she'll answer to!
• Due to her vampirism, most foods tend to taste rather dull
• She often criticizes media interpretations of vampires, generally thinking it's "ridiculous and unrealistic"... This does not stop her from continuing to read and watch media involving them, however.
• Joanne's secretly a sucker for romance, both personally (person dependent) and in various types of media
• Her original name was Dahlia (based on the Dracula / Vampire Dahlia flower), but upon starting a new life after the events of Stardust Crusaders, she renamed herself to Joanne / Joanna (per Polnareff's suggestion of the French name "Johnanne"), as well as taking the Joestar last name.
• Joanne's last name, Joestar, would remain the same after marriage, instead opting to give her husband's last name to their daughter, Chérie Polnareff.
• Due to the hair manipulation ability (seen in S2 E3 + S2 E5, "Curse of Dio" and "Silver Chariot") she inherited from Dio, Joanne's hair can actually be expressive; Think of it like how a cat's tail reacts based on their mood (spiking up when startled or angry, lowering when scared or sad, flicking when curious or excited, etc)!
Joanne's biological mother. Little is known about her other than she had Joanne via Dio and gave her baby up shortly after the birth. She hasn't been seen since and Joanne has little to no interest in her whereabouts.
ADOPTIVE PARENT
Adoptive parent
The person that found and took in Joanne as an infant. Once they learned of Joanne's vampirism (albeit not knowing it was vampirism explicitly), they kept Joanne a secret from most out of fear of what could happen if anyone found out. After their passing, at age thirteen, Joanne fled, living as a wanderer for over a decade, up until she moved in with Polnareff after the events of Stardust Crusaders.

Joanne's father, but only as a result of Dio stealing Jonathan's body. She only knows what little she does about him through Joseph and bizarre dreams that began to occur shortly after getting her Stand. Upon Dio awakening his Stand, she'd soon awakened her own, along with her hair shifting from blonde to blue, a similar color to Jonathan's.
HOL HORSE
Complicated, messenger
Hired to be a messenger for Joanne and one of the few friends she had prior to meeting the Joestar group. Their friendship became strained after Avdol's "death" and stopped speaking to one other until many years after the events of SDC.
