Eyeless Jack (Sophie AU)

This is a divergent timeline where Jeff never meets the other proxies, and so deteriorates into a violent husk. Watching his only 'friend' fall apart has a profound effect on Jack, who also never gets to forge friendships with anyone else. He becomes cold, reserved, bolder about his distasteful actions. He has lost interest in making connections, as it seems he simply wasn't made for it.

Jack has been prepping an old man for an organ harvest for some weeks. At night, he comes into the house through the attic window. One day he finds that they have moved their daughter upstairs. Caught off guard, it then becomes clear that she thinks he isn't real. Against his better judgment he begins to talk to her. The visits become more frequent and he starts to look forward to them.

Drama happens when he is caught harvesting her grandfather; Sophie comes to terms that her midnight visitor is a real life monster; their relationship persists regardless. Then the house gets sick. Jack has to figure out the curse to protect her and her family.
