Katsuro

Katsuro grew up with his best and closest friend Masao(Kota), they spent every waking moment together. Katsuro’s parents were drunks who beat him whenever he was home. He stayed at Kota’s house most times. During a night the boys were out in the woods, a demon slaughtered most people in his village, including his family. He was not as sad about his parents death unlike Kota. Kota vowed to kill the demon that killed his family. Katsuro did not want to be left behind so he joined Kota when he wanted to join the Demon Slayers. Kota was kind of glad that demons killed his parents so he was always iffy about killing them. He knew what demons did killed and hurt people but he knew demons needed to do that to survive. He pitied demons, they were tragic creatures to him. When the boys were 10 and 11 they got accepted as Demon slayers. They had trained as hard as they possibly could to get in. They quickly killed many demons. Kota did not show any sympathy to demons, Katsuro differed. Katsuro always listened to the last words of the demons, he knew they were human once too. Kota was unaware that Katsuro believed this. A decade later, when they were in their twenties, the two were climbing up the ranks and were fairly well known, they faced stronger and stronger demons, Kota had a bloodlust for killing demons, Katsuro was leaning on the demons side as he saw the decent of his dear friend, and how he did not show any sympathy to any demon. Soon the two faced an extremely powerful demon and Kota was so close to killing it but Katsuro stopped him, he could see the true fear in the demon’s eyes. He could see a glimpse of human. The two fought for what seemed that hours but was really a few moments before Kota, in his unfocused, blood lusting state struck a fatal blow on Katsuro, slashing his neck as if he were a demon. Katsuro screamEd in pain. Kota soon realized what he had done and couldn’t bear his guilt with what he had done. Katsuro was furious at Kota, and yelled at him about how Kota couldn’t see the more human and misunderstood side of the demons. Katsuro screamed as long as he could before his voice started to give out because of his wound. He turned to the demon, pleading and begging for the demon to change him into a demon so he could live and go on in this world. Kota fled shorty after Katsuro transformed into a demon. Katsuro was furious at all demon slayers, they were heartless to him and to the tragic beings that he had joined. He swore that he would kill as many heartless demon slayers as he could. He soon was consumed by bloodlust, just as his friend was, except, he would eat and gain power from the humans he killed. He killed many demon slayers in his time as a demon, growing stronger and stronger until Kota and him met once again…
