Meursault and Donqui met coincidentally one day through a series of events Donqui's shenanigans caused him that led him to Meursault's workplace. When Donqui saw Meursault, he took her for a beautiful princess, and knelt on one knee, asking her to be his bride. Meursault declined but said they can start dating first. Ever since then Don clings to Meursault, madly in love with him. The extent of Meursault's feelings are unknown but he likes Donqui enough to go out of his way to be around him. Donqui is one of the only people who's seen Meursault smile.

Don and Sancho have been best friends since early childhood. They've always been super close, even dating at one point. When Don started to get a bit too into being a knight Sancho fully supported him, playing along, offering to be his squire. Sancho is often dragged along on Don Quixote's adventures and usually needs to bring some logic to the situation.
