Lucius Zuciane (PRE-INCIDENT)

Courteous, gentlemanly, and relentlessly focused on the goals of each mission, Lucius served as a natural choice for the head of the Containment Division. While his co-head, Set, was responsible for most of the mission briefing and planning, Lucius was responsible for giving orders and making decisions while in the field itself. Constantly loathing the fact that he was constantly being exposed to viscerosis -- with the Vessels that they were fighting serving as a shining example of what essence use could do to people -- Lucius used to be somewhat bitter and impatient with his work, even though he made sure to keep his hostility carefully hidden underneath his smiling mask. Even though he wasn't an essence user himself, Lucius would always fight harder, move faster, find ways to prove himself just as capable as the other espers and EQE users that he had under his command. All the while, he was waiting for the invitation that he'd received during college to ring true. When would that mysterious figure finally contact him? Had they been lying all along?

Now, fully reassured of the echo's presence, Lucius is more than satisfied that his efforts haven't gone to waste. His performance in the Containment Division was noted by the higher-ups at the Virion Project, just as he'd planned. He's in the remarkably-safer, remarkably-more-interesting Investigation Division -- just as he'd prefer. He's with (mostly) pleasant company, he knows that he has a level of protection only Tolys shares with him, and he's just waiting for the promise that'd been made to him to finally come to fruition.
