shoka is a sea slug who resides in splatsville. he is a drummer for a ska-punk band as well as a ballet dancer, two professions that don't often "mesh" in the eyes of most onlookers. he likes to keep up with his elegant and refined image, so he initially found this role as a drummer to be too rough and rowdy for his tastes. shoka's bandmates often try to get her to loosen up– often a fruitless endeavor as shoka is stubborn & has an ego several times the size of his own body.
despite this, they're a phenomenal drummer & their bandmates often praise this. he loathes this fact, as it supposedly proves he's skilled at something that he believes will "tarnish his persona" to people he wants to impress [which is most people.] she would never admit it, but shoka likes being able to get messy and be punkish, and quickly learns to love this new side to himself even if he doesn't initially want to outwardly show it.
outside of being a drummer and dancer, shoka is proficient in piano and stage acting.
appearance
being a small nudibranch, shoka is fairly tiny compared to the average inkfish. he has a pair of rhinophores on his head which he wears a two-tone band and rings on. his head is comprised of countless translucent "petals" that have tiny glowing spots. these petals will sometimes scatter and fall when she's surprised or otherwise flustered, but otherwise they cover most of her face excluding her mouth.
he likes to wear leotards and other ballet attire, but also opts for very baggy pants for more "casual" or comfortable attire.
