Story
PRE-SBURB
Arin grew up with his conspiracy theorist sister, who taught him all he needed to know to overthrow a corrupt shadow government. They were always moving in their motorhome, escaping the tyrants that may-or-may-not have actually existed in the first place.
He met his friends on a community app about video games, and grew close with a small section of it. They drew art, roleplayed and wrote stories about eachother, and they became his only friends. One day he came up with a birthday gift idea for his best friend, and worked with the community socialite on it. He revealed that he had found the source code of a game from 8 years back, and thought a gaming session to be the perfect birthday present for their "vintage video game" loving friend.
PLAYING SBURB
When Levi enters SBURB, Arin is quick to realise he has lost all contact with his friend. He scours the internet for information, and only finds a single walkthrough of note. He is confronted with the fact that the birthday gift he pulled together would doom everyone he cared about, and brought the end of the world in its wake.
With Levi MIA, he is forced to work with socialite DANI to bring together as many of their online friends that they can, before they meet their ends. Unfortunately they are only able to get a single user into the loop, upon entering SBURB he loses all contact with the internet.
BEATING SBURB
Arin is quick to realise that the veiling barriers of each kid's planet is preventing from getting anything more than the SBURB connection signal from escaping their planets. He works to upgrade each kid's signals to overcome the fog, and they are all able to get into contact with planet earth in time to bring in the last player. They see the final non-player status blink to grey.
Maybe SBURB isn't actually that great of a game?? just a thought.
