favouring the brightest stars...

nothing compares to the vegas nightlife~!

cheerful . lucky . victorious

Sometimes, you'll notice a shorter, yet similar-looking person at the casino. They're much like a hummingbird, flittering through the machines and making sure everything's in working order. She stands out from the background, all the purples and blues. You could almost compare them to a disco light. Apart from the colours, them and Nene are so alike - are they sisters?

You almost don't notice her at first, because you're so caught up in your little games. You think it would've gotten boring after a bit, but surprisingly - no! Not at all! Every new win you get is a bit more money in your pocket, and you've even begun sharing your winnings with other people at the casino, who have gladly traded items with you too. Jewellery, cash, even limited-edition figurines...happiness is truly all gathered here.

She notices you from afar and leaps over to greet you. She's impossibly full of energy, much like she's been charged with electricity. They take out a deck of cards from their pocket (how did it fit in there?) and shuffle them at such a rapid pace that their hands and the cards become a blur. They offer you 8 cards, obviously signalling you to pick one.

You pick out the leftmost card, revealing it to be an Ace of Hearts. She looks at the card with glee clearly painted on their face as she puts the deck away in that pocket of hers. You wonder what that meant - did you do something good? Did you get a good pull? Or was that a play that just royally screwed you over? You wonder if it was a win or a loss - your brain's been so wired to this place to be unable to think otherwise.

"You're enjoying this place, aren't you? All the wins you're getting and the adrenaline from the wins..."
The goat person points to the name badge on her chest. "My name's Momo! Momo Vegas, at your service. What can I help you with today?

C’mon, should we start up the non-stop music?
My body starts to move on its own to the melody
The notes and words directly echo into my heart,
Disposing of all logic.

o n e . Early Life

Momo grew up in a loving, yet not financially stable family. She spent most of her childhood running about outside, playing with anything that she could get her hands on - whether that be bugs, or sticks. They were a keen helper around the house when it came to cooking - other chores? Nah. Momo would probably be outside making mud cakes or flower perfume. On one occasion, this led her to meet Nene, because the quiet girl had decided to come out for some fresh air. Despite both coming from different classes of living, they got along quite well - almost too well, in fact. Momo even felt comfortable bringing such a wealthy girl to their residence, which was nothing more than a shack - much to the shock of their parents.

She had strange coincidences occurring all around them - she and her family never lost anything. Every race at her school, Momo would somehow become first, she would win all her play fights with Nene, and her parents always somehow managed to make enough to barely scrape by. Perhaps even meeting Nene was a victory, as her parents helped her family immensely upon the two becoming best friends. Her parents often joked that they were their lucky charm.

t w o . Model Life

School wasn't exactly the easiest for Momo. She preferred to be playing outside and relaxing than studying, and she knew she probably wouldn't fail - she'd never suffer a loss, after all, and they would graduate as a straight-B student with a few As and Cs littered here and there.

Fortune first came when she managed to convince her parents to buy a lottery ticket. In a dream, they had imagined a list of winning numbers, and repeated this to their parents. This ended up winning them millions of dollars, so much money in fact, that they ended up on the news. Whenever they were questioned, they wouldn't bring up their daughter, but rather, say it was luck that brought them here.

Unlike Nene, who had worked hard to get where she was now, Momo decided to put in as little as effort as possible, falling back on their money. Effort was unknown to them - all they wanted to do was eat, sleep and spend time with their bestie, who they were slowly beginning to develop a small crush on. (This crush would never be noticed by Nene, however.)

t h r e e . Disappearance of Anomalous Fulfillment

She credits Nene for allowing her to discover victory.

Momo was fully content with their life. A life where they never had to work again, a life where they could slack off, a life where she was equal to Nene in wealth.

Yet, Nene never seemed to be happy about her progress or satisfied at all, and Momo noticed that. "How could you not be satisfied?" she had asked her best friend one day, and Nene could simply not conjure an answer up for that, other than "it just is. I'm not happy with how things have turned out."
She did her best to cheer Nene up - how could they see the person they so dearly loved be so melancholic? It had been a joy to them when they met up with Nene and how she had seemingly done an 180 overnight at first, but she soon realised - this wasn't Nene. This wasn't the Nene she knew at all. Where did Nene go?

Even so, she vowed to stay by her "best friend"'s side as she offered to work at Nene's casion - the Manbaatan Casino.

f o u r . The Exhilaration of Salvation

She can't say anything to anyone. Nene, if she finds out that Momo knows it, she'll...she'll...they can't even muster the strength to face that fact. They've seen her potential, and they find it quite frightening to get in the way.

She could only watch as Nene grew more distant and colder towards everyone around her, including Momo themselves. She can only cling at the hope of staying by her side when they work alongside each other, although they rarely even exchange greetings now. It's upsetting. Momo doesn't like it.

At least she's found one thing about herself, even if the introduction of it had been quite brusque. She was never a good-luck charm herself - she contained the God of Victory inside her body, and the God of Victory had allowed her to live such a life. She doesn't know why she was chosen, but they choose not to question it or to bring it up to anyone else. What Nene had told them about the God of Victory...it hurt her. Hurt her deep to the core.

Momo hopes that Nene will become her old self, and she believes this fiercely. After all, she has never lost.
