Melita Samaras
"The tongue has no bones, but bones it crashes." – Greek Proverb
Melita Samaras is a ceremonial witch who has lived for nearly 3,000 years. After several fails of her own, she helps guide young witches and those across the world through magic and keeps them from making the mistakes. She has a devoted attribute to bees as a witch, which means that she has a deal made with Melissa - the Greek nymph of the bees - to be able to summon bees at any time so long as she takes care of their species. She assists in their prosperation through several hives around her home.
Melita happens to be the mother figure to several baby witches. She'll stop by once in a while to make sure they're doing alright. It gets very lonely in the life of a witch, so she wants to make sure they're well loved and taken care of.

Personality
Leadership
Although Melita does very well in a leadership position, she doesn't always enjoy being in the spotlight. She prefers to sit aside and encourage someone else to do their best. Because as much as she does well in their position, she'd rather help train another to gain that confidence to lead.
Ominversion
Melita loves spending time with other people. The only issue is that too much time in a social scenario leads to her being mentally drained, although she refuses to admit it.
Empathy
Melita can sense someone's emotions in their body language even if they don't intend on showing it. She'll do her best to help them in any way she can, whether it's by doing something for them or just being there to talk.
Discipline
Despite not having any kids of her own, Melita tends to treat those closest to her and ever so slightly younger than her as her kids. This means that if one of her kids does something stupid and destructive, she will lightly smack them on the head and give them the mom glare.

Summary
Ancient Greece
Before Melita became a witch she was just a normal citizen of Greece. She formed clay pots and spent time with her late husband. She had a whole group of friends and a life she loved to live.
In one of the many Greek colonies being built during this time, Melita was able to settle down with her husband and plan for their future. They wanted several kids and a life together. But then a fight broke out between the colonies, declaring that there was a thief between them that stole food that would last over a month. They blamed Melita because of her figure, but her husband stepped forward and argued back stating that she had nothing to do with it. The fight escalated until her husband was found dead by the river a few nights after.
After the loss of the love of her life and any future she could have hoped for, Melita broke. She tried praying, spell work, begging, everything. Nothing would bring him back. So she turned to witchcraft. Despite the pleas her friends asked of her to keep away from Hades, she refused. She made a pact with Melissa (the nymph in Greece that was said to have a strong connection with bees and having been taught how to make honey) and gained everlasting life so she could have a longer time to find a way to bring him back. It took years, centuries even. But she never found that spell.
Meeting Cyrus
On her way toward a healer she ran into years ago, she discovered a small village with those who despised witchcraft. She watched as they planned on burning a young man at the stake. At first she'd walk past as she had a feeling it wouldn't go that far, but something about the man's energy through her off. He was heartbroken. She felt a sort of kinmanship toward the man before she began gathering together several witches she knew from around the area. In one quick strike they burned the village down and saved the man.
After the destruction of the village and the safety ensured for the young man - she now knew his name was Cyrus - Melita took him to her cottage and offered him a place to stay for a while. The two bonded and talked about witchcraft for weeks at a time. Melita taught him the positive aspects of what magic could be, the part that society never really told others about. Cyrus then began a search to learn magic himself.
Even in the present time Melita and Cyrus still exchange knowledge of magic and spend time with one another. They have a mother-son type relationship to this day.
