A half-blood Stellic, Natanael was born to a Common mother and an Iogolere father. His father, a young Ignacian nobleman who had been banished from his kingdom for breaking the vow of peace, had come to Arisov in hopes of uncovering the ancient Sword of Blackhollow Mountain and killing the tyrannical queen. However, it wasn't long before his plans were discovered, and he and his wife had a decision to make. Leaving their baby safely in the hands of his aunt, Antonia, they both left Arisov and were never heard from again- though, knowing the brutal efficiency of Arisov's guard, it is not likely that they survived.
From that day, Natanael was raised by his Common aunt and her husband, unaware of his heritage or his magical abilities- and least of all his father's legacy. In war-torn Arisov, poverty and fear were the norm and the ever-changing courses of the kingdom's conflicts forced the family to move around frequently for safety's sake. During his childhood, a chance encounter led Natanael to meet and befriend a young Takezi child named Ren. Though neither of them knew it, their close bond was due in part to their Stellic connection, and Natanael was Ren's destined companion, as every Iogolere is born with an attachment to one Takezi whom it is their job to protect. Unfortunately, an attack on their city separated them as everyone struggled to escape, and for the rest of Natanael's childhood, Ren's fate was unknown to him. For a while, life was safe enough until tragedy struck again and Natanael's uncle, David, was killed in an attack on the factory where he worked. This event drove a wedge between Natanael and his aunt, who became emotionally unresponsive due to grief, and fiercely overprotective of her nephew, who grew to resent her behavior.
Desperate to escape her boundaries, Natanael began spending time in secret with friends that his aunt hadn't allowed him to talk to previously. One friend convinced him to sneak out of his house late at night. Complying, Natanael was led by his friend into a trap in which he was kidnapped and sold to the enemy, the Wuthering Empire, as a slave.
Life became exceedingly difficult after this. Natanael was given to the Emperor, James Wuthering, to be used as a manservant, and was forced to endure the brunt of the Emperor's explosive, violent anger. For the rest of his childhood, he dealt with this abuse while struggling to come up with a way to escape and go home. This hope gradually began to dwindle until a chance encounter led him to discover the Resistance, an underground group of rebels who sought to bring an end of the Empire and its cruelty to all of its citizens. Natanael was taken on as a spy, gathering as much information as he could. During this time, he uncovered the Emperor's goal- he had been capturing innocent Stellics and stealing their magic from them, fueling a doomsday device known as the Crucible which would allow him the power he needed to take over all his neighboring countries.
Among this turmoil, Natanael was reunited with none other than Ren at one of the Emperor's lavish parties. His friend had survived and, after a long troubled period of not knowing their identity, had been rescued by their grandfather and living a charmed life as a model. However, Ren had a discovery of their own to share- an ancient prophecy of which they believed themselves to be a part. It was the propecy of the second coming of Mavaria, an ancient kingdom with the power to restore peace to the warring continent. Natanael and Ren worked fervently to come up with a plot to help the prophecy come true, and discovered their soul connection after some time together, which allowed Natanael to unlock his powers and learn his heritage. He was given the gift of foresight and prophecy, and through this, was able to locate the Sword of Blackhollow mountain that his father had sought. This blade, he foresaw, had the power to destroy the Crucible.
As Ren answered the call of their kingdom and raised an army of loyal Mavarians, Natanael escaped his master in a daring plot aided by a few members of the Resistance and set out to find the blade. When he returned with the sword, Ren had begun the attack on the Empire, aided, surprisingly, by Arisov. In the clamor, Natanael was able to sneak into the hall of the Crucible and after some struggle, disarm it. The Emperor found him and they fought, and Natanael was wounded. However, Ren came in time to save his life and fought the Emperor as the prophecy had decreed, killing him and freeing the Empire from his control. The battle was almost fatal to Ren, but Natanael stayed loyally by their side throughout their recovery, their shared magic helping the Takezi survive. Mavaria established dominion over the land, and with Ren as regent, peace was restored. Natanael and Ren realized that their feelings extended beyond that of a Takezi and their servant, and the two were later wed, Natanael becoming Mavaria's beloved prince consort and living the rest of his life there.
