“Naerie” is the perfectly average, hypercompetent roommate doubling as a housekeeper that any person would want to keep around! Minds their own business, will help out whenever you need him, and will gratefully do the chores without your asking! Well, perfectly average if not for the fact they’re actually a reaper, and if you’re seeing it then it’s probably your last moments. Naerie’s real name is actually Naenia, and when they’re acting on their duties as a reaper they’re… surprisingly as upbeat and genuinely likeable as they are when they’re ‘playing the role’ of Naerie. Their task is strictly the transportation of the dead to the gates of wherever their destination is- nothing past that. However, they make the most of it as much as they can, allowing their ‘customers’, so to speak, to choose that final walk from the land of the living to the land of the dead. That walk may be something as traditional as a ferry, or something as fantastical as a ferris wheel. All he wishes for is for people to face death, which she is both itself and an agent of, with peace in their final moments. It enjoys its responsibilities as a reaper very much, almost to a morbid degree. Acting as a human is manageable, if need be, but with the time it has he would rather spend it picking up more souls to see off.
