Gaea had been one of the most promising students at the PMW Academy, being the first person to go on a job meant for teachers and experienced teams. It took her a while, but she was proud of her accomplishment. She was absolutely brilliant with her weapon, and she used her power to control plant life well. She had been strong with and without her power, but she depended too much on her weapon. She was ferocious with her axe, a weapon she found could do a lot of a damage. She was feared by criminals.
On the job meant for those with experience, she was supposed to battle against a bunch of people who was causing quite a bit of problems for everyone. Robbing stores and people, possibly having people in government positions and hurting the students. She went with an experienced team, but they still failed. They were outnumbered. Gaea, having been a threat and would only grow stronger, was a target. She lost her dominant arm to them, maiming her.
She was out of it for a while, unable to comprehend that this is normal. For a good while, she was out of school, completely out of commission. When she finally decided she needed to work on getting herself back together, she made the decision to got to the PMW school as a first year for weaponry and powers. She had to learn how to write with her right hand, which wasn't dominant in the first place, learn how to use her powers with one hand which can be very difficult and requires more concentration and learn how to use a weapon using one hand.
On top of it all, she tries to use her powers to make another arm. She is unable to and has difficulties doing so. It hurt her to know that she lost something like when she could have kept it, if only she had done something else. She constantly runs scenarios through her head, and she has yet to accept what happened to her.
Before the incident, she wasn't very humble and had bragged more than once about her abilities. She relied on them, being able to do quite a bit without having to study much. Gaea was very hotheaded, rushing into a situation without thinking about what she is about to do. It's gotten her hurt on many occasions, including the loss of her arm.
When she lost her arm, it had gone down hill and she lost it all. She became much more humble with what she could do with her one arm, and she became much gentler. She helped other people by describing techniques with magic and weapons, but she knows that it can't help too much without examples, and she does her best to help the, well, the other first years with everything. Most don't know about her past, and don't listen to her.
