Maysa is a young witch adept at life magic, though she has mostly used it for the past few years to help on her small farm. After saving Neriah's life by changing her human, she left with her to help her find her magic again. But perhaps the true magic was the feelings the two developed along the way.

Maysa is definitely the mom of the main group, and cares deeply for the people around her. But she is also largely unsure of herself and her own abilities, regretting that she was not able to truly save Neriah from the sorcerer's thievery, and only managed to give her a body she is not comfortable in. She largely tries to hide these feelings though, putting on a cheerful facade, though she can also be a bit sarcastic at times, often going straight over Ced's head.

Background

Maysa's background is largely a mystery to those around her- she had carved out a spot on her own, a solitary farm with only limited visits to the nearby town. For someone so overly friendly at first glance it was surprising that she should wish to be alone, but anyone who starts to pry just get's a look a distance sadness and a dismissive wave of maybe she will tell another time. Whatever may have happened, Maysa tries to live in the here and now, helping her friends on their journey.

Summary

Maysa runs a small farm on the edge of a forest by herself. She uses her life magic to help with crop growth and general health of her animals, and enjoys the time she spends, though she is a bit lonely. She has a library of scrolls from when she was studying her magic, which is where she initially met Neriah in dragon form. Shocked, she thought for sure that was the end of her, but discovering Neriah was merely curious, the two soon began an odd friendship.

One day her farm was attacked by the sorcerer, looking for a dragon. She tried to tell him there was no dragon, that he should leave, but he did not believe her and set her farm aflame. It was only due to Neriah's intervention that she survived, but at the cost of Neriah losing her magic herself. Maysa, unable to fight the sorcerer, but seeing Neriah in pain and dying, did the only thing she could think, and transformed Neriah human- a dragon must have magic to survive, but a human requires no such thing. She now travels with Neriah, hoping she can help get her magic back. But her feelings towards Neriah grow complicated, and she tries to chase the thoughts of what it would be like if she stayed human, and stayed with her, from her head.
