Des

introduction.

Des is everywhere. However less personified she may be, Des may also be the most human. Mortality has always been a living construct, and the idea of Death touching a being is a tale older than words themselves. Because of this, they are only present in reality, being so intimately associated with humanity rather than immortality. They are powerful, but carry an air of somberness and invietability. They know they cannot stop what they do, and know this thoroughly.

Des doesn't tend to meddle in the affairs of the Unconscious- they are too present in the human mind to be considered more of a story and less of an ever-present concept- but may show their face when the time calls.

When Charon confronts the idea of mortality that she has only witnessed through a glassy lens, they are there to comfort her. Kind, wise, and more tethered to the world than any other, they present the question: Things end and change. I cannot do anything. What can you do?"

Des is gentle with an air of otherworldliness to them. Although their projection is in one place at a time, they are in many places at once. They are not very stand-out, being quiet and easy to lose in a crowd of people. However, as tethered to the world they are, they are very ephmeral, leaving as quickly as they appear.

They take a very grounded approach to things, seeing both the practicality and meaning in everything around them. They are very compassionate and consider human-made thing some of the most beautiful art of all, being made within their short yet infinitely meaningful lives.

Des understands grief, but is the most likely to explain the meaning behind death and the idea of change. They also advise that it is impossible to avoid it, sometimes making them come across as passive and inconsiderate.

• Des does wear casually gothic clothes. They find the subculture quite nice.
• It is left up to interpretation if Des is something between a reaper and Death itself.
• Des may appear in many forms, and sometimes may appear to the dying.
  • Unlike other Archetypes, the idea of Death appearing as loved ones allows them to take on many human faces. Sometimes, they appear as someone they were once fascinated by.
• Des' current projection was inspired by one of those people. They linger among humanity this way.

• They wear very comfortable clothes. Their hoodie is supposed to mimic a reaper's cowl.
• They tend to have downward eyes and a constantly neutral face. However, they smile and laugh easily.
