Appearance & Personality

Personality

Rhodolite's personality very much depends on who you are. To those above her, she shows a cold and to-the-point persona, although not in all cases. To those beneath her, she behaves dismissively, with little regard for their feelings or well-being. And to those equal to her, she mixes the two personas. Her enemies she treats viciously, with her actions fuelled by spite, and shows off an overconfident persona she emulates from a close friend....

The ones who are close to Rhodolite see her for who she is, where she tends to be quite chatty and even inviting at times, with a tendency to banter or make jokes. 

Likes/Dislikes

✓ Rhodolite enjoys the heat, partially the reason why she had the ziggurat built out in the desert. 

✓ Rhodolite's pearl is her prized possession. She values nothing more than them. 

✓ Rhodolite enjoys social functions, often attending the balls held by the diamonds and other high-ranking gems. 

✕ Rhodolite cannot stand Aquamarines. They have a high and mighty attitude about them that irks her despite outranking them. 

✕ Gems that constantly try to ingratiate themselves to her. She takes it as an insult to her intelligence.

✕ Cold Weather. Rhodolite tends to avoid going to places like the Great North personally. She would observe operations there with a red-eye or other observation device. 

Height

Due to her perfect cut, Rhodolite is slightly taller than similar garnets such as Hessonite or Pyrope.

Defects

Despite having no physical defects, Rhodolite can show some behavioural 'defects' in private, such as breaking the rules of the Caste System. 

Thoughts on Fusion

Rhodolite can believe in fusion as a weapon but has only ever had to use it once. She's honestly quite undecided on it but tends to conform to the Homeworld normal. 

Abilities/Weapons

Superhuman speed. Rhodolite is capable of moving and fighting at speeds fast enough to leave only a pink blur behind her.

Holographic projections. Rhodolite can project a holographic screen from her gem, part of the reason for her differently shaped gem. It can be connected to nearby devices for her convenience. 

Rhodolite's summoned weapon is a pink scimitar, though she can also wield a gem destabiliser at times.

Relationships

Friends

Pink Diamond. Rhodolite was made especially for Pink. Her first foray into colonisation and having an army of her own, Rhodolite was supposed to answer any questions she had and be an extension of her will upon her new court. And while this role was fulfilled, Pink's playful nature led to the two having a more unconventional relationship, as they would play games and waste time, Rhodolite unable to deny her diamond whatever she wanted, even if she didn't enjoy her silly antics. 

Hessonite. When Yellow Diamond intervened in the Gem War, and the two first met, they had a standoffish and tense relationship. However, with time, the two became accustomed to one another. They learned to work together and became one of Rhodolite's closest friends and allies. 

Conch Pearl. Rhodolite's pearl. Although secondhand from a previous owner, Rhodolite was immediately enamoured by having a pearl of her own. Choosing not to rejuvenate them when she acquired them, she won over her pearl's loyalty. Further than that, during the Gem War, Rhodolite defied Homeworld's rules and taught her pearl to fight in secret. Conch is Rhodolite's right hand, above any other gem she commands. 

Enemies

The Rebels. Rhodolite's sworn enemy is Rose Quartz and her renegade pearl. She will stop at nothing to see them shattered. Despite playing up their encounters with theatrics in order to gain some amount of notoriety and status amongst Homeworld, she sees them as a threat, and feels protective of Pink, who she sees as innocent and pure. Following her shattering, she is almost mad with a desire for revenge, almost sacrificing her own life to try and kill them, too. 

Pyrope. Deep down, Rhodolite admires Pyrope. But Pyrope treats her dismissively, and with a lack of respect, moreso than she typically treats others with and so Rhodolite returns the gesture, although she wishes to get along with Pyrope. 

Lover(s)

While not currently open, Rhodolite and Conch Pearl have some sort of romance going on.
