Basics
He's Syd. What else is there to say about him? The layabout straggler of the not-so-famous, barely infamous, Crow's Nest rarely finds the energy to think about pulling his weight around the ship. Slow to reveal anything about his past, the most anyone knows is that Syd was recently releasd from prison. Which prison? Who knows. Why was he there? Could be anything. Real trustworthy kind of guy, that Syd.
Occasionally, though, a different side of Syd shows. The universe isn't that big, and Syd sure knows his way around when he wakes up long enough to help navigate. And if you're really lucky, he might even do the talking for you if you're in a sticky situation. Truly, there has never been a kinder man than Syd.

Character Trope: Scoundrel
Syd's been around town. And this town. And that town. He's been places he shouldn't have been, and doesn't mind who knows it. There's few laws will stop Syd from doing what he wants, and his moral values are as consistent as his bathing habits.
Species Trope: Human
Syd's a human. They're everywhere in the universe. What else is there to say? He eats, he breathes, he sleeps, he bathes (occasionally). There's nothing special about Syd. Sometimes, if the crew stays in place too long, he gets almost nervous and looks over his shoulder more than usual. But, that's just Syd.
Syd Trait: Smooth Talker
Syd knows people. He's observed all walks of folks for most of his life, so it can be easy for him to figure out what makes people tick. Knowing what to say and how to say it and who to say it who is child's play, it's just a matter of if Syd will put this skill to good use or will continue finding new ways to piss Risk off.

Elio Santos [ A Dude ]
Now THIS is a guy with vibes. Elio is a strange man, but he's good natured and easy to be around. No real point in messing with a guy like him. Might be the closest Syd gets to enjoying someone's company.
Risk [ Captain Feathers ]
Risk is easy to rile up. It's fun. He owns the ship, so that technically makes him captain, and Syd will gladly leave that job up to him. Despite his teasing, Syd will defer to Risk's judgement, if only so he doesn't have to think for himself. His socks are pretty comfortable, too.
Dottie [ Little Miss Mechanic ]
Dottie's a strange one. She's easy to trick, fun to tease, but Syd will be the first to admit she's the best engineer he's ever met. She's innocent. Maybe too innocent for her own good.
Crow [ Freaky Little AI ]
AI and tech shit is above Syd's paygrade. He doesn't know shit, and kind of doesn't trust it. As such, he is actually nice to Crow to make sure she doesn't turn on his ass and eject him into space. Better safe than sorry.
