Generally pretty quiet, easily gets lost in his thoughts. Doesn’t like confrontation, but won’t beat around the bush when he has to talk. Tends to fade into the background in groups. Easily spooked.

Background

His dad worked an office job, and for a while, his mom stayed at home and babysat neighborhood kids. Later on, his mom picked up a night shift job so she could stay with Maki in the daytime and his father could take care of him at night. He lost his job when Maki was younger, though at this point his health evened out. Still, his mom had to work harder and spend more time away from the house, leaving Maki to deal with his father, now bitter that the finances are suffering and no outlet to speak of. He started to take it out on Maki, both physically and with words, unbeknownst to his mother. At some point, like 10-12, Maki was attacked by a dog and his father refused to take him to a hospital. This leaves him with an actual fear of dogs, and a lesson in not being able to trust his father. His mom showed him nothing but kindness, however, and he starts to think of her as his saviour. He’s the ultimate mama’s boy, and picks up hobbies whose products make her happy (floristry, origami) and generally tends to not try to reveal much to people lest they find a reason to dislike him.
