Background
From wife to murderous widow to triggerman, the Polish immigrant joined the Marigold gang in a tough part of her life. Her expertise in quick and clean contracted hits kept her well off from the streets. Her professionalism and good presentation made her a good option for Mr.Sweet’s hit jobs, not letting a single strand of hair be out of line to keep that perfect image of hers from being shattered for everyone around to see. However, after Atlas’ death, Halina started getting more work put on her shoulders, and before long she was assigned a partner in crime, the jack of all trades and Atlas’ “golden boy” by the name of Mordecai Heller. The two not being onboard to babysit, wanting the other as far as possible outside of work, before they realised they were quite the duo, and as Halina was quite professional and didn’t cause any scenes, she got on Heller’s “good side” -if there is any?- both still not being too trustful of the other however. By the very least, Halina didn't make fun of his need for symmetry, being fully open to it and finding a kind of peace and satisfaction in things being put in a certain way. However, is this truly what others described as the “black widow?” the “hatchet widow of Ostroda?” or was there a misunderstanding? She doesn’t seem too keen on using poison in her work, nor a hatchet for that matter. Perhaps there’s something more to her that she keeps silent about?
The perfect housewife, if she hadn’t murdered her ex husband that is. But Halina enjoys reading, cooking, cleaning (and getting all sorts of unholy stains off her clothes). Her biggest hobby however is sewing and perhaps having a freak out at whatever new electronic witchcraft somehow comes into contact with her, good luck trying to get her to a movie theatre.
- Halina finished her primary education.
- She enjoys cooking traditional Polish dishes, it reminds her of better times.
- Halina is Catholic, however she isn’t that deep into her religion because of the things she’s dealt with.
- Halina doesn’t drink too often but she can handle liquors quite well, her first choice of drink would be either vodka or whiskey.
- She wasn’t too much into symmetry before meeting Mordecai, now she keeps things tidy and as symmetrical as possible for the tuxedo cat. That includes her clothing as well.
- Halina loves classical music, she enjoys music from Liszt, Bach and Schubert. The feelings she would like to describe in the music would be somber yet with hope and love.
- Regarding Halina’s hobbies, she mainly sews her own clothing and fixes up any bullet holes in any outfit that requires maintenance. However she’s found herself doing some plant work and taking home more potted plants as of late, either if it’s because of the black cat or her finding her home somewhat dull, Halina has at least a couple of plants she likes to take care of.
- Even if Halina’s previous relationship wasn’t of her liking, being told what to do most of the time and being treated as a tool. She enjoys pampering and taking care of Mordecai’s needs, even how odd or small detailed it may be. Dabrowska makes his tea perfectly and cooks their food as instructed by Heller. The difference on why she likes it is the way Mordecai reacts, being grateful for what Halina does as no one goes on with his hard to handle demands.
- Her weapon of choice is an M1914 (.45 ACP. Semi-automatic pistol, manufactured by Kongsberg Colten.)
- Halina would be described by others as the “Edwardian lady”, not wearing exactly what the style of the 1920s would be. She enjoys wearing what her grandmother would have worn, having multiple variations of suits and ties in her wardrobe, she especially enjoys wearing pinstripe skirts and vest combos for casual wear outside.
- Viktor is the only one who at first knew how to say Halina's surname right, she respects him more because of that.
- Halina's family is from a reagion in Poland named Mazowieckie(Masovia).
- She comes from an upper middle class family, her father owns several car manufacturer factories, Halina’s mother was the local seamstress before her untimely death. She got her sewing skills from her mother.
- The most prized possession of the grey cat would be an old pure silver locket with a picture of herself with her grandmother, before Halina’s mother passed away and there was still that happy child with an untainted childhood. She keeps it as her only true happy memory with her family.
- Halina loves to read books, whether it's history, horror or other languages, she often will read on her spare time or when waiting. Her favorite author's would be Jane Austen, Edgar Allan Poe, Agatha Christie and Bram Stoker
- One skill she has is playing the piano, Halina used to play with her father. It was a type of bonding time for them both.
- Halina would be described as smelling of mint, she would rarely smell of anything else but mint, except blood (maybe).
- Halina’s favourite colour, even when she herself lacks quite a lot of it, is exactly a dark forest green with a touch of olive green shade to it.
Thanks to a connection made in the past, and agreement from Asa, that would grant and secure Halina's subsistence, was facilitated to her. Since then, she would take the role of trigger-woman and bootlegger for Mr. Sweet, carrying various successful solo jobs under her belt. Yet, as of recent times, cooperation was forced upon her, something she wasn't too keen on but she didn't have much choice in the matter sadly.
Beyond that, her employer usually doesn't treat Halina too harshly or with cruelty. More often than not, treating her with that usual sour warmness of his. The grey cat managed to tolerate his laughter and remarks fairly well. (Although his bad jokes on the other hand... they required her to make a conscious effort to endure.)
With time, Halina learned how to get a slight advantage over her employer, being able to faintly influence and coerce him into more favourable and less frustrating decisions that could affect her.
At first, Dabrowska couldn’t tolerate Heller’s obsession with symmetry, the grey cat even refusing to cooperate with him but was imposed to do so regardless. Yet, as time passed as well as multiple jobs together, both cats were able to see each other eye to eye.
Halina becomes probably one of the few, if not the single one, who has gotten close and intimate to the black cat. Being able to understand Mordecai, feeling safety and comfort with him. Not to even mention that her current perspective on symmetry has shifted, embracing it fully and seeing the benefits of it.
As for Mordecai himself? He finds her company pleasing, tolerating her without much effort. Both cats being able to learn from the other, complimenting themselves quite greatly.
Halina detests the siblings. Their ways, their methods and all-around bruteness rubbing her off the worst way possible. Both Serafine and Nicodeme tend to prey on her, attempting to intimidate the grey cat or just being plain cruel if the opportunity arises. Thankfully, Heller is able to intervene or take the focus off of her, even if she dislikes the idea of those two hurting Mordecai in any shape or form. As time passed, Dabrowska was able to endure and dodge any of their attempts to throw her off balance. Still, she would do everything in her power to avoid having to work or interact with those two.
