About
Charlotte is agreeable and somewhat old-fashioned in her language and mannerisms. She is sensitive to the disquiet and pain in the world, seeking always to remedy it. Friend or foe, she believes in the inherent goodness of all people, which can cause her to be too trusting at times. She feels most at home documenting and learning about the flora and fauna around her. Because of her deep-rooted value for life of all forms, she hates to see any creature in pain. For her, violence is almost always a last resort.
She loves tea and old books, and she carries herself with poise and grace. This lends to her being rather fussy at times. She hates messes and can be quite critical and judgmental. Though she strives to please everyone, she can have quite the temper if someone oversteps on an issue she cares about.
Skills
- LANGUAGE: Due to being such an avid reader, she has an extensive vocabulary and is fluent in two languages. This gives her a knack for solving riddles and puzzles.
- NAVIGATION: She has experience in cartography and can make detailed maps with her cartographer's tools.
- ANIMAL COMMUNICATION: She can cast spells to communicate to animals that she means them no harm or to ask them for aid.
Magic
Charlotte specializes in light and nature magic. Most of the spells in her repertoire are for healing and support. She carries with her a rose-engraved spellbook that contains a careful recording of all of the spells she has learned so far. This spellbook also serves as an observational journal for her to record her thoughts in.
She can cast small nature spells to summon gusts of wind, make flowers bloom, or communicate with animals. If she must fight, she can cast radiant magic to defend herself.
STORY
The green leaves parted above the enclave she’d long considered her home. Their local chapter of the Verdant Clave was as picturesque as a painting—sunny, rolling hills, lush forests, and a quiet creek beneath the canopy of trees that whispered secrets of the life it carried. They taught her all she knew—to make a flower blossom, to let animals know that you meant them no harm. But with this knowledge came a dark expectation.
Charlotte's parents were high-profile missionaries who frequently journeyed away from home, so she was raised primarily by the community within the Verdant Clave. She was taught their ideals of pacifism and living in harmony with nature, and she regarded her fellow members as family.
However, when she learned of the Clave's darker, violent history and expectations of her as a princess, she fled, leaving everything she'd known behind. It was when she came across an injured bird that her powers awakened and she was gifted her life magic. As she mended the bird's broken wing, she was reborn, emboldened by a new purpose to heal and preserve life rather than end it. She vowed that she would never take the path that her former Clave had set out for her.

Relationships
Ponto Portabello [ Friend ]
Charlotte originally met Ponto by happenstance in The Forest of Valyria. The two ended up journeying together to rescue the dracokin's children and eradicate the airborne illness plaguing Ravinera. Though they are opposites in many ways, she considers him a good friend, and they have had interesting conversations about the cyclical properties of life and nature. She disapproves of his foul language, but he brings out a rare, comedic side of her.
Dala Vineblood [ Friend ]
Dala was one of the first adventurers Charlotte encountered in Wardner, and the two became fast friends and teammates. Charlotte looks up to Dala greatly and admires her quiet wisdom, strength, and maturity.
Rose [ Friend ]
