History

Astral is a sub category of a human.

Once a simple human man, having been warped into something else by the psychic god he worships throughout many years. To the inhabitants of his planet, his kind are called "Guided Ones". And while the subcatagory of human that Astral and his kin are small and few and far between on the planet. What they lack in numbers they gain in immense power, guided by their God. His home planet, Nevus, is a planet much like our own. As well as never having encountered anything outside our own company here on Earth, Astral and his human kin have not yet discovered life on other planets, or anything alien apart from dried rock floating around the nearby solar systems.

The 'god' in question, that Astral worships, is actually a parasite, that has attached itself to his planet, feeding off the aspects of humanity that it likes best, but this fact is unbeknownst to he and those in his cultish circles that follow such a powerful being (to them).

On his home planet, Astral is a cold hearted bastard. A monster to those that don't know any better, though a monster is not far off from what he might call himself, should he entertain the thought.

Astral is a man of manipulation and a lust for power on all levels. He uses his physic abilities to torment foe and ally alike, all in the name of his god and his ultimate plan to rule the world under his relentless psychic fist.

Deeming himself untouchable, and at the height of his plans and control over his fellow man. His planet wide ruling finally within his reach, it comes as quite a surprise, albeit a humbling one, when Astral is one day abducted straight off the only planet he's ever known and shipped through space by the alien black market dealer Rogue. (Seriously, it comes out of entirely LEFT FIELD for Astral. The concept of being actually abducted by otherworldly beings was certainly not on the board when he devised his plans for world domination. But alas, here we are.)

For countless months, though one can argue there are no months in space, Astral is experimented on by Rogue and his team, not necessarily maliciously in nature, though to Astral who cannot communicate or fight them in ways he's come to learn how, it is all the same to him, maliciously or not, Astral is furious, outrageously undignified by the whole ordeal and most importantly, shockingly terrified of being so overpowered by something he knows nothing about. With the powers of his god not functioning in the ways he's accustomed to, and seemingly easily subdued by his alien captors, Astral is at a loss of how to fight, escape and return to his home world. Almost entirely breaking his spirit as he is shipped ever closer to the Nasgue undercity black markets in which Rogue plans to sell him.

Rogue and his team experiment on Astral with the urge to understand their merch they've acquired, in order to sell it at the best possible price.

Rogue is in search of these types of planet parasitic beasts called Feerin, mainly because the unique sub category of species that are commonly refered to around the galaxy as "Tendrils", that its presence creates while feeding on the planet, is some of the most sought after living merchandise Rogue can get his hands on. Providing him a very pretty penny when he can sell multiple from the same Feerin, sold on black markets around the known universe.

Only problem is, Astral has a bit of a bite, and finding a Feerin attached to a planet is like finding a needle in a hay stack. These parasites, not only were rare to begin with, but were hunted to near extinction when the Lux empire ruled most the galaxy, many era ago. The irony of Rogue searching for such a beast is not lost on him, though he claims the fact that he's a Lux has nothing to do with his search for one. (perhaps its just an innate engrained desire within him that even he doesn't realize (or accept).

Regardless of the reasonings, Rogue ventures far outside of the known universe in search of these particular delicacies (or really anything unique he can bring back to The Accord (the main Nasgue occupied planet clusters) and sell on the undercity markets for hefty amounts of pay.

Astral's sentience level, compared to Rogue's and the rest of the Nasgue occupied territories considers Astral a level 6 sentient being. (Rogue's species the Lux, is considered a level 3, A Nasgue is a level 1)

Typically, anything under a level 3 sentience level is considered a less intelligent being. or one that is of smaller minds and far more difficult to converse with or convey (what nasgue and lux consider to be ' simple ' understandings of their technologies, sciences and universe knowledge.

Humans, for example, fall under Astral's category. A level 6 sentience. Still capable of speech in their own right, but typically only within their own spheres of understanding.

Under level 6 sentence , will be considered animals and insects. However, to a 1, 2 and 3 sentient being such as the Nasgue and Lux, the level 6 would be treated quite closely to an animal, even though there is some capability of communications between them, it is few and far between. There are translators that exist for these purposes, in order to communicate with all different levels of sentience, but for a species so far out of the range of the Nasgue's reach, Astral and the rest of the human categories have no such translators. Rogue has to make do with putting one together himself, and while that would increase the pay he might receive from a buyer for these creatures, it isn't really worth the trouble.

Astral is a man of dignified stature. When in his own element, he holds himself with poise, and sinister intention. Polite to a point of eeriness. He holds himself, and expects others to do the same when around him, with proper etiquette and decorum. Astral is the type of gentleman that will hold the car door for you and in the same breath, watch as you become trapped and promptly burnt to death as it is set alight before him. However the ultimate key to being treated well by Astral is if you can provide something of value to him that will inch him closer to his main goals. Just be careful not to become obsolete, lest he'll throw you away without so much as blinking an eye.

Rogue really didn't realize how much he was saving the world when he abducted the main villain from its story. He'd get a big kick out of it if he did though. He's kind of always wanted be seen as a hero deep down.
