As a dwelf, he is significantly short and fat. He has a lot of body hair across his arms, legs and stomach.
He has a multitude of random scars, often fading or being added onto. He should always have vampire bite marks across his entire body, concentrated most on his neck, collar and shoulders.
There's beauty marks on each of his cheeks and random ones across his body.
It's bottom-heavy and pear shaped. Unless we're close friends, he should always be drawn flat-chested (post-op).
While he has large elf ears, they're pointed downwards.
Being blind, his right eye can sometimes drift towards the middle. It can also be stylized to a different color or symbol /pattern.
His nails are usually long and pointy, they can be painted.
Quiet, soft spoken, melodic.
His companions often step in to create a space for him in conversations, as he's easily overlooked.
It can be difficult to understand the unique dialect formed by his ancestry and unconventional upbringing.
Born in the Forest of Tethir, he has a dystinct Tethyr accent - similar to Jaheira !

He never received a formal education, but the circus nurtured his artistic talent to decorate various posters. His matured skills help keep a neat flow and shape to his letters, tho they're often written wrong.
His closet evolves over time, starting with colorful circus attire from his performances.
He has a tendency to drift towards short-sleeved shirts of flowy fabrics and leather pants.
Most shoes are uncomfortable for him, so he avoids them when possible or wears open-toed variants.
It's incredibly rare for him to wear any sort of dress or skirt.
He adores collecting jewelry, especially with interesting stories or emotional significance.
Almost always wearing multiple rings on both hands.
Sometimes wears ribbon chokers or rope bracelets.

Dolly is kind and trusting to a fault. He believes in the good of people no matter how much they prove him wrong, causing him further suffering.
It's something many of his companions struggle to understand, but help him overcome. As they shape him to become tougher, he in turn shapes them to be softer.
Years of physical, verbal and sexual abuse during his time in the circus has caused him to develop severe PTSD, anxiety and depression.
It's very difficult for him not to be in a melancholic mood or down in general, making him fall into a bit of a 'sad clown' trope.
He does his best to hide this around others, yet seeing his downs becomes a show of great trust.
Despite it all, he wants to create a future where nobody has to endure suffering like his own and strives to help everyone he can.

Early Life
Born in a druid circle of the moon to a wood elf father and gold dwarf mother, he always had a deep connection to nature.
His training began early, allowing him to spend his childhood exploring his forest home in wild shape and playing with various animals.
At age 8 he was kidnapped by a group of hunters believing they captured an owlbear cub. Once they realized their mistake, they decided to sell the fuzzy little dwelf to a nearby traveling circus.
The circus life was harsh, traveling all of Faerûn.
Seeing how performers would often escape, become sick or perish, each was forced to study many different acts to replace their co-stars.
Dolly was taught in the arts of animal handling, flute playing, clown performances and illusion magic.
Since he learned from an old bard from the College of Lore, his skills developed in the same class.
Wishing to keep a connection to his family, he studied nature magic in secret. Pledging his devotion to Corellon Larethian, he became a nature domain cleric.
He tragically suffered many different kinds of abuse at the hands of his ringmaster, the other performers and the audience.
Finally escaping the circus that imprisoned him since childhood, he found himself wandering Faerûn with a tadpole in his head. He sets out to find a cure, but along the way makes many allies and tries his hardest to help everyone he can.
As he attempts to find help at the Emerald Grove he is met with a dire situation. Even without much battle experiences, he immediately offers to help the tieflings, returning peace to such a beautiful place. He still hesitates with killing, leaving enemies knocked out as he befriends Volo, Abdirak and frees Halsin.
Having saved the circle, he's happy to watch the big group including all of their children continue on a safe path. At the big celebration held in their honor, his party realizes that a deep bond is growing between all of them. Astarion, Lae'zel and Karlach begin developing romantic feelings for Dolly as well.
They decide to travel through the Underdark, helping the Myconids and Deep Gnomes they find on the way. In the Grymforge, they are reunited with Barcus - who Dolly has affection for despite his rough edges. Their traveling party grows for a while, until they reach the Shadow-Cursed lands.
With Karlach's excitement, Dolly is quick to trust Jaheira - a fellow Tethyrian! Being a druid to boot, she quickly takes the dwelf under her wing. With her guidance, the party is able to infiltrate Moonrise Towers, rescue Dame Alyin, even help Halsin return Thaniel to his full strength.
They part ways with Halsin, accepting the confused and hurt drow Minthara into their group. Dolly's trusting nature strikes again, offering a helping hand to one deep under waters they didn't choose to enter.
Stopping at nothing, they successfully defeat Ketheric Thorm, bringing Dame Alyin and Isobelle safely back to each other. It's here that seeing Dolly defend him against Araj, strike down Yurgir and follow him no matter how dark his path turns, Astarion realizes he's falling in love. He confesses his feelings, which are heartily reciprocated. From that moment they become openly affectionate, making their relationship clear to all who meet them.
Having found information about Crèche Y'llek, everyone follows Lae'zel towards a potential cure in a place familiar to her. The group has respect for Gith and their customs, cooperating every step of the way. Unfortunately, the zaith'isk is unable to cure them. After a meeting with Ch'r'ai W'wargaz and Vlaakith, Lae'zel is proclaimed an enemy to her people despite following her queen's demands. She mourns this loss, but Dolly encourages her to trust Kith'rak Voss - leading to her learning of Orpheus' true history.
Finally the path towards Baldur's Gate is clear. During their time in Rivington they visit the circus where Dolly is scammed by a Genie, Astarion has a statue of himself crafted for their camp, they receive the blessing of a dryad after proving their love and cause chaos during Dribbles' big performance.

Unaware, they've walked twin paths all their lives which finally intertwine after the nautiloid crash.
The differences in their characters and views on the world only make their bond stronger, opening the other's eyes to things previously unseen.
Both feel a profound safety and comfort knowing the other understands the abuse they've been through, deepening their trust.
After their adventure is over, they settle in the Underdark with Astarion's siblings and start a family.
--- The first to join, after Dolly foolishly attempts to help him, is Astarion.
Their relationship has a rocky start due to the differences in their character - Astarion often demeaning Dolly's tender-hearted nature.
He doesn't expect the same gentleness to extend to himself, being shocked by every tender gesture that Dolly bestows upon him with ease. After many nights and battles by each others' side, they finally learn that they share a very similar history. Dolly refuses to sleep with Astarion despite melting over his sweet nothings, due to his own experiences with abuse. His anxiety on the subject is intense enough to subconsciously conjure a chastity belt on himself.
Knowing the horrors both have endured, their romantic feelings continue to deepen as they focus on protecting and learning about each other. Dolly often encourages Astarion to partake in his hobbies. They take walks during which the pale elf's ears ring from his dwelf companion's oversharing, he becomes invested in turning the pages of Dolly's leather journal - excitedly expecting new additions. Astarion is particularly touched seeing numerous portraits of himself, the face he hasn't seen in centuries, drawn with adoration in each line.
Dolly even goes out of his way to adjust his diet, making sure his blood is nourishing with a delicious taste. Daily, he offers his neck, even if there was a chance to drain their enemies. During particularly long days he'll eat his meals as Astarion bites into it or offer his wrist, giving the vampire a chance to return the gesture by feeding his charmed companion whose hands are busy.
They form an unbreakable bond and fall deeply in love.
