Shiden Yukiyama

Born and raised in the small mining town of Odette, WV, Shiden the second son of Hisashi and Minako Yukiyama, and younger brother of Raiden by 3 years.  Their parents were quite traditional and put a high value on the boys' education and manners, molding them into respectful young men.  Overall he had a very happy childhood.  His father is the chief of the small town's police station, and Shiden assists there often, dreaming to one day become a detective himself.  His mother has been sickly for most of her life, but it was endurable up until a few years ago.  After her younger twin brothers passed away, followed shortly after by her parents, her strength began to fade.
In 1984, Raiden disappeared along with another boy from town.  They have never been found, and the mystery of their disappearance is a constant weight on Shiden's mind.  His brother was his best friend and role model who shared everything with him, so the uncertainty of his whereabouts deeply troubles him.  With the heartbreak of losing her son, Minako's health worsened; her strength and will broken.  She is bedridden now, and Shiden acts primarily as her caretaker.  The same year that his brother disappeared, a troubled girl moved to town.  She was taken into the police station on several occasions; on one of which they met.  He fell in love with her almost immediately, and has been trying to win her over for years.
After a fateful Halloween night, he wakes up the next day with an entirely new perspective on life.  Now able to see past the veil of the human eye, he begins to see things as they truly are. . .
